City Using Official Website to Campaign for Bullock

Post by Bridget Conant »

The city of Lakewood is using its official web site, onelakewood.com, to launch a smear campaign against Mike Skindell in a quest to curry favor for Tom Bullock in the Ohio race for District 13.

http://www.onelakewood.com/city-of-lake ... ers-90683/

I find it appalling the length the post goes to implicate Skindell as a “bad guy” in a suit that challenged the city over its use of private meetings to discuss important city issues, violating Ohio Sunshine law in the process, an action the city admitted to in court filings. Yet somehow, it’s Skindell’s fault.

Beyond the fact that they admitted they violated those laws, necessitating the lawsuit, if it’s taxpayer money they are worried about, how much is the BSL litigation costing? Even Judge Carroll commented on that.

Or the lawsuit over the library scuffle where a girl’s jaw was broken by a city police officer? How much is that costing?

Or the refusal to release public records? How much did their defiance cost the taxpayer?

No, that post had one intention - to smear Mike Skindell in a lame attempt to help Tom Bullock, the guy who BARELY held onto his council seat in the last race.

The city should be ASHAMED for posting that thinly veiled smear piece. If Bullock needs to run that sort of campaign, he’s clearly not deserving of that seat.

Need I remind others of his previous antics last time he tried for that State seat? He tried to smear his then opponent, Nickie Antonio, with this doozie claim:

https://m.clevescene.com/scene-and-hear ... hed-claims

Antonio responded:
It’s a total smear job done with the assumption that people won’t dig any deeper,” says Antonio. “It’s an attack on my integrity with no cause.”

Tom Bullock is a LOSER, and so will we all be if he gets elected to the State seat. He can’t win on his merits - he has to smear his opponents.

Is that who we want representing us?

Ms. Conant,

You are so right.

This false campaign statement has Bullock's fingerprints all over it---whining about $90K spent by the LOSERS at City Hall fighting Skindell who was trying to save the City from idiots giving away $150M in public assets for some "magic beans".

Remember two election cycles ago when Bullock was whining about the legal fees in the Graham Taxpayer Case which was also trying to prevent Bullock, et al from p*****ing away the same $150M in taxpayer assets? Deja Vu all over again?

It is so pathetic it reminds me of the 1960s "Dynamic Duo" of Batman & Robin.

Bullock is hanging on to his political career by his teeth and Summers and the other "Boy Wonder" are trying to save him.

Bullock: "Holy Molars Mike--I'm glad I take care of my own teeth."

Summers: "Yes Tom, you owe your life to putting your own dental hygiene above the public's interest and the most vulnerable among us--'those people who we stopped from coming across 117th Street for free healthcare in our vibrant neighborhoods."

Team Summers is definitely circling the wagons....."Lakewood Life" a few days ago, and now this.

Yesterday's discovery of the possible rapist on the police force, and last night's packed council meeting to protest BSL, only adds to City Hall's misery.
Their acolytes like Patrick Wadden are enthusiastically spreading smears on Facebook.....the desperation is tangible.

Them using City Hall has campaign headquarters is not new. Using their own propaganda pieces is not new. Even using public funds to battle honest residents is not new. They learned nothing from Benny Bonano's 6 months in jail. Instead what they have learned is, destroy documents, fight the public's right to know at every turn, yell, scream, intimidate while projecting others do it to them, and by all means sell out to the highest bidder while enablers and sycophants surround you, and echo the lies.

On the left, the smartest most honest public servant to come out of Lakewood, and the right not even close to anything but an embarrassment.

From Brian Essi's post this morning to bring it all together.

Even they saw the truth, till they owned him.

Jim,

Was this the event where Bullock jumped in front of the cameras to call Skindell a grandstander?

Correct. Of course, Bullock knows more about grandstanding than PT Barnum.

Here's an interesting aspect of this that everyone is missing:

In its attempt to bolster the Bullock campaign, City Hall is actually undermining it.
Let me explain:

Throughout last year's council campaign and into this year's race, Bullock has failed to mention the hospital closure. His handlers recognize that it is a "hot button" issue that works against him.
48 percent of voters opposed the closing in 2015 and 2016, and that number has been increasing with each new revelation of deception and wrongdoing.
This is why the Team Summers mantra throughout 2016 was clichés like "Let's move on" and "the future, not the past".

However, by spotlighting these lawsuits, City Hall has put the hospital closure BACK into the spotlight.
It reminds everyone that Bullock was a chief proponent of the unpopular move.
Was that a smart idea? This is questionable strategy at best.

Mr. Deneen,

I tend to agree with you on this one.

Bullock, Summers, O'Leary & Butler are so filled with misplaced HATE & ANGER toward squeaky clean honest Mike Skindell that they can't see just how dumb they look attacking him.

Polling in 2015 showed that people wanted to keep the hospital.

That's why City Hall & Bullock lied to the people in 2015 and said Issue 64 would "DOOM" the hospital (see below).

That horse won't ride anymore.

They own their failures and they are projecting failure on to Skindell.

Skindell was right, Bullock was wrong and...

Bullock has DOOMED his career..
