Another Carjacking? But Crime is Down?

Right in the middle of Lakewood. This is after last week’s brutal carjacking at Aldi’s

But hey, we’re building the Belle-agio on Detroit.

And we are “protecting” people from dogs.

What sort of leadership is this?

Third one in less than 2 weeks.

Is Lakewood safe?

Maybe the blue bag fees could put officers on the beat. Not sure how safe Lakewood is anymore. It does need to be dealt with.
I was born here I can not recall so many robberies and car jackings at gunpoint.

Lakewood has really good police and fire departments. Especially when they are allowed to run with proper budgets and staffing.

Of course lately we are inviting more into Lakewood for fun and drinks, not just to raise family. With fame and alcohol comes crime. True everywhere it is tried.

As Councilman O'Malley pointed out, a lot of this comes from the new car technology, much harder to steal a car, well on the local thug issue. Much easier to grab one with the keys in it or near it, hence the car jackings.

I understand Jim. I am not blaming police. If we need to budget more money to have more police on duty it should be done. We need to somehow catch the jerks responsible. How about a " Bait Car " type scheme? I agree we have a very good Police and Fire Dept.
