It’s his go-to method of diminishing anyone who disagrees with him. Calls them “emotional.” Just like he called those opposed to the hospital giveaway emotional.

I wonder if he will be “emotional” when he loses.
I noticed that. He apparently doesn't realize that most of the emotion is due to the anger and or frustration toward his complete and utter incompetence.

One of the things I noticed while watching the video was the man's attitude answering one of Tristan's questions. Not much emotion on the surface, but he looked like Bruce Banner trying to keep the Hulk from emerging. He was definitely pissed at having to answer a question.

All

The talk of muzzling dogs is as distasteful as talk of muzzling the Mayor.

Why do we need any new law. There are dog ownership laws and dog bites laws on the books, they have worked for decades.

"Change for change for change sake is a recipe for failure."

Once again, we have seen a Mayor fostering hate, costing residents unbelievable amount of time and money to defend themselves and their pets. Folding at the last minute in a costly lawsuit, issuing many statements to the media making him look like the kind emperor, while shifting the blame and the hate onto council, including the newest council members that are forced to defend themselves and a city out of control. Ass in more hate, add in more outrageous inherently terrible ideas designed to drive away free thinkers and intelligent people, as the entire process of cultivating hate starts over yet again. This has been Mayor Summers pattern of "management" since the first day in office, even on council.

Why? Insecurity? Inability? Knowledge that he has become a complete failure, as he walks up the stairs to becoming immortalized as the worst Mayor in Lakewood history.

Mayor Summers, the hate in this city grows out of your administration. Just stop it, you alone have the power.

With all the dog posts lately, I neglected to say how much I agreed with this one.
We have dog bite laws, and if only the leash laws were obeyed/enforced, I don't think pit bulls or any other type of dog would be in question. I've had my share of problems with loose dogs, but never a pit bull. Usually it was a docile family pet spotting my dogs and responding to the ancient urge to protect.

Perhaps these laws should be tweaked:
* Mandate 6-foot leads. It's very hard to control a dog on an extend-a-leash, or a very long leash.
* Prohibit dogs from being tied out in front of a house. That's asking for trouble. Most big problems I've encountered were when a dog on a tie out on the porch or in front of it broke free and charged.
* Make some kind of allowance for people who can completely control their dogs off leash. There are very few, but there are some.
* Make more of an effort to enforce dog clean up. Additional trash cans will help. A couple of years ago, there was a move to take some away on Clifton when the bus stops changed. Put them back. Put more in strategic locations.
There's a cute program in many cities: "There's no such thing as the poop fairy." Give it a try.

Overall, animal control needs more personnel and more budget. They should be available 24/7.
