A Thank You & Merry Christmas To Lakewood Fire, Police, and Street Crews

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

Especially those that worked through Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day!

Last night the snow started, and as everyone loaded their children into bed to await Santa Claus, and others toasted the day, sitting by the fire with loved ones and thinking over the season, Lakewood's finest were running through backyards chasing a thief, looking for a shop lifter, patrolling the streets.

Meanwhile Lakewood Fire Department settled down to be ready for things like an early morning house fire on Dowd, where the flames were put out in stairs leading up to the attic, and making sure, everyone was safe and no one got hurt.

And Lakewood street crews took to the trucks to apply salt and try to keep up on the winter storm, which considering the temps, and hundreds of mileage of Lakewood streets, and a very limited budget, they have done a good job.

I would say, "I for one appreciate your hard work and dedication" but I know that everyone in this community appreciates it as well. While over the past couple years there have been complaints a many about City Hall. But no one doubts the dedication or quality of our Lakewood Fire, Police or Street Crews.

Thank you and Merry Christmas!
