Giant Eagle

Post by jackie f taylor »

They're finally remodeling the store, the produce area is all turned around, the north wall is all opened up and very inviting to shop at, much more to see, then as you head towards the deli dept. that's all opened up too, a whole new wall of fresh foods, the salad bar is closer to the deli, and more accessible, the customer service area also has a new friendlier counter, thank you Giant Eagle. Too bad they missed an opportunity by not committing to the W 117th and Clifton location, a Market District store. Stupid, they already owned the lease.

And another thing, I wish they would offer daily, not just on Thanksgiving, a real roasted Turkey, both white & dark meat, by the pound, for dinner, sandwiches, whatever, they already cook food there anyway, and turkey is so cheap, cheaper than chicken, and so much better. imagine being able to choosing between roasted turkey legs and thighs, to breast. May as well serve mashed potatoes, dressing and gravy too. I'm just saying.

Jack, I have to agree with you, again,

I'm personally turned off by any chicken product, so many chemicals, antibiotics, steroids, I never saw chickens looking like this, they're more like small turkeys.

Dolly Parton would be jealous, the size of those breast, something is going on

imagine, having to live your whole life, like they are in Austria, 1943, one on top of another, in prison, your whole life,

I remember, my mom would go to the west side market, they had a chicken coop, right on West 25th street, live chickens running around, you pick the bird you want, go shopping, and come back, and it was clean and dressed. That was s natural chicken, I used to love chicken, now, I don't know what it is.

They picked a busy tome to start a remodel.

This made me smile. We always thought Giant Eagle was a strange name for a grocery store so my family often refers to it as Giant Chicken! Perhaps this weekend, we should consider Giant Turkey.

Jackie, you are one of a kind. Thank you for observing and reporting on the store upgrades. Happy Thanksgiving to you and all!

thanks James for the recommendation, I will give them a try, I loose my appetite when I think of 10,000 chickens crawling all over each other, feces not to mention other disgusting stuff, I remember mom went to the West Side Market, they had chickens running around in a pen, she selected a chicken and in half an hour, it was ready to take home, they were delicious, Giant Eagle's chicken's are so big, so plump, so full of what ever, I don't never even consider purchasing one.
