Planned Power Outage, Smoke, LHS Students Released Early, Nothing To See, Move Along

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

This afternoon a planned power outrage for the electric company to trim trees and branches need power lines and sub stations got a little crazy.

As they turned the power back on, a substation and a motor overloaded and burned at the high school, causing smoke, which set off the fire alarms, sending Fire and Police to the schools as every student exited the building. After the building was checked and cleared by Lakewood Fire, the lights would not go back on so students were allowed to leave early causing traffic problems along Franklin, as rarely do all students leave at the same time.

They are working on restoring power and everything should be back to normal.

There are more planned power outages tomorrow and that should be the last of the tree trimming for awhile.

Nothing to see, move along.

Great work Lakewood Fire and Police!

Well if you had read.

A planned power outage by CEI, blew out a serge protector and motor.

So unless a student has amazing pull with CEI, I doubt it.

More planned power outages tomorrow and next week.
