Veteran's Day 2017

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

Lakewood had their annual Veteran's Day Ceremony at Lakewood Park, well attended by both Veterans and residents that are very proud of all of our Veterans. Here are some photos from the LO's Jacob Chabowski.

You can see them all at: http://lakewoodobserver.com/photoblogs/jacob-chabowski/lakewood-veterans-day-ceremony

Nice photos, good job by all (yes, even Summers).

It's great that Lakewood has this ceremony every year. Veterans Day gets the "short shrift" from most people.....it falls so late in the calendar that most people are already thinking about Thanksgiving and the holidays.
Most people conflate Veterans Day and Memorial Day, and then only focus on Memorial Day because it's the beginning of summer and a chance to grill.

I agree, but it is hard changing the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month.

Especially against big money holidays.

It's an auspicious date.
