Two down, more to go!
Congratulations to George & Rader. Hopefully they will be transparent and will expose the apparent corruption that is currently being discussed.

Guess having a cocktail party for the "youthful voters" didn't help.
I think the millenials can't be fooled as easily as they thought.

The voters will have an excellent opportunity to defeat the lying, scheminng, racist Bullock in spring 2018....he will be running for State Rep.Gary Rice wrote:..and just a note of my own here to the other apparent winner, Tom Bullock...Congratulations to you too, Tom.
I can't wait to see him campaigning in Cleveland....I hope he tells residents there about his plans to protect Lakewood's borders.
I wonder if Martin Sweeney is having second thoughts about his new "partner".

I did not know that Bullock was going to run for state rep. Other than the "Summer's Gang", who else would vote for him?
It will be fun to tell his opponent(s) about Lakewood Hospital and all the other alleged corrupt dealings he appears to have been involved in here in Lakewood.

Re: Election Results - George, Rader, Bullock, Charter Passes
I sincerely hope that one result of this election will be that at council meetings, our elected council will no longer think it's acceptable to sit there staring at their cell phones during citizen comments.
It's appalling the lack of respect shown to constituents they serve. If you want to sit playing with your phone, do it on YOUR time.
I'm hoping Ms George and Mr Rader set a good example for the current council and change the culture of appearing bored and disinterested. Again, you were elected after volunteering for the duty. Do it and stop making it look like you're so pained having to be there. If you are, resign and do us all a favor.

It appears that the difference between Cindy Marx and Tom Bullock falls within the automatic recount status, so there will be a recount.
The only thing that could change that is the 140 provisional ballots that have yet to be counted.
Perhaps the LO will have to print another correction.

Any comments from Bullock or Marx? Were any concession speeches made?

Bullock thanked supporters and congratulated George and Rader on his campaign FB page while wishing Marx and Nowlin well. Since the incumbents shared the same post election venue, Bottlehouse Brewery, I would assume the response to the results were rather muted.Bridget Conant wrote:Any comments from Bullock or Marx? He then went on to say:Kate McCarthy wrote:Bullock thanked supporters and congratulated George and Rader on his campaign FB page while wishing Marx and Nowlin well.
"Now it's time for me to become a state rep. My genius should be rewarded with a promotion. I've been sitting through these boring council meetings for ten years.....it's my turn to go to Columbus!! Martin Sweeney and I will make a great team for Lakewood -- screw that bigmouth Skindell and that damn Nickie. It's her fault I'm not in Columbus already. If not for her I would have won statewide office by now. I have a drivers license, they should have run me for governor! I'm great!"

Major congratulations to Meghan and Tristan for blowing away the incumbents by more than 1000 votes each!
What surprised me is, after all he's done to screw the people of Lakewood, how did Bullock hang on to squeak into 3rd place?? I hope he realizes that his support in Lakewood has plummeted. Then again, his massive ego may not let him see the writing on the wall.
I guess pulling the wool over people's eyes has its advantages.

He's going to have a tough go at state rep. If he can't deliver his own neighborhood, who will be willing to invest in his campaign.
As I said elsewhere, I think he's toast.
Maybe Ed Fitzgerald can get him a job as a "planning my and development" expert.

So there's a chance that we might perhaps have a council consisting of 5 men and two women. That would be a good outcome.Jim O'Bryan wrote:It appears that the difference between Cindy Marx and Tom Bullock falls within the automatic recount status, so there will be a recount.

Bridget
Not sure what brought this up, but it seemed to really resonate around town. Many people seem very excited about having two women on Council which we had for years.
A nice balance, now if we could just find a little more diversity.

Odds are very slim that the results will change....and that's fine with me.Bridget Conant wrote:So there's a chance that we might perhaps have a council consisting of 5 men and two women. That would be a good outcome.
Let's not forget that Cindy Marx conspired with Lakewood Dem Club leaders to "purge" Tristan and other new members.
She's a scheming, devious person.....good riddance!
I want Bullock to stay on council for two reasons:
1. So he can get his ass kicked in the State Rep race
2. Because he HATES being on council. He expected to hold a much higher office at this point......every Council meeting that he attends is yet another painful reminder of his stagnant career. His disinterested and aloof behavior during council meetings is a clear demonstration of his attitude.
Ten years after being first elected, he has actually regressed in popularity.....and can't even get selected to a Council leadership position.
That's pathetic.....I think he should have to stew in that for the next four years.
