Does a candidate (in this case Mrs. Marx) need to formally petition Bd of Elections to do a recount ... or does BOE have a policy of automatically doing a recount if margin of victory is within certain % points?

I wish I had been able to easily see a list of the incumbents so I could be sure not to vote for them. That didn't happen so I just voted for Tristan and nobody else.

This is frustrating to hear. There were three new challengers and their names have been plastered all over various threads here. You are allowed to have a note in your pocket, you know.
Though if they can place an R or D after a name, they could easily use a star to designate an incumbent. But then the question is, would that give the incumbent a further advantage?

The results are right on the line. Ohio State Law calls for a recount at one-half of one percent.
Under two which is what it is, would need Cindy Mark or voters to file a petition. Generally recounts, have little impact in the days of computers, unless, voters are asked to punch holes, (hanging chads) or voters are asked to fill in circles like yesterday. Then machines have issues reading them and counting them.

Brian,
The good news is that Mr. Bullock will still be held accountable for his part in the alleged corruption scandals here in Lakewood. Ms. Madigan, Mr. Juris, Ms. Marx and Mr. Nowlin will still be held accountable for their parts in the alleged Lakewood corruption also, regardless if they are currently in office, or not.
Where has Mr. Juris been? Not a peep out of him for a long time!

Re: 84% of Voters Said "NO" to Bullock's LIES & NEGATIVE PERSONAL POLITICS
I was kicking myself as I walked over for not finding out for sure. My wife was busy explaining to me that Bernie and Kucinich were both FOR #2 (what?! you mean those very respectable men in their uniforms from 30 years ago were lying to me about its effect on the common man!!). So, at least I was able to course correct on that one. I tried to look at front yard election signs on the way over - Meghan George had so much hoopla I decided that she must be an incumbent.
But rather than be frustrated, know that it is the deck that made me familiar with Tristan Rader, so something went right!

I received a lot of information in the mail about the issues and from persons running for council. Many issues can be looked up online for explanation.
Now, lets get this post back on track: It appears that, unfortunately, we are still stuck with Bullock. When all is said and done, I believe Bullock may find himself in an orange jumpsuit!

Bulluck will have a hard time running for state rep now that his credibility as a candidate is in question. If he can't pull in voters from his own town, what does that portend?
Reminds me when Ed Fitzgerald ran for governor and didn't even win in his own neighborhood.

Yes, you were not special. We all did. I assure you I represent the average voter for whom there is just no name recognition among city council members regardless of how many glossy postcards get stuck in my door. I knew not to vote for Bullock. He was the only incumbent I was 100% sure of. Also because of the Deck.I received a lot of information in the mail about the issues and from persons running for council. Many issues can be looked up online for explanation.
