Directly in front the Winking Lizard, right on Detroit road, next to Giant Eagle, are metered parking spaces, about 3 with a dedicated "Handy Cap" spot, the most western meter is "Dead", The digital meter says, "If meter is broken, do not park here, a ticket will be issued" what? the fricken meter is broken, that's not my problem, but whoever is in charge, isn't compassionate enough, to let you park for free, so you can do business with the merchants, really, bastards, scrooge, Till they fix the stupid meter? Who made that brilliant decision?
If the roof flew off my tenants house, they should not be obligated to pay rent, till it is repaired, if they can't live there, if you can't park there, then why charge as normal, even penalize you for taking the liberty of parking there. It's your broken meter? Let me park for free till you fix it. Give me a break, I'm just saying
Do you see why I post? I'm aggravated, There is so much good going on in Lakewood, and then you have to put up with shit like this, a stupid parking meter, really? That isn't making anything better in Lakewood. I see people feeding the meters on Saturday & Sunday, when it's free, doesn't the city make enough money off that?
If I see patrons about to feed the meter on the free days, Saturday, Sunday, holiday, after 6:00 pm, during weekdays, I tell them, If it's after 6:00 pm, your supposed to pay me, I haven't made a penny yet, But a lot of laughs.

Re: Parking Meters
Your right on Jack, a $15.00 or more fine for parking due to a dysfunctional parking meter, as if's it your fault? Give me a break.

Re: Parking Meters
When I go there, I like to park in that most western meter, when I'm done doing business, I can just pull out, and I'm on my way, no one in front of me, just go, The road did not cave in, no one was assaulted in that spot, why can't I park there for free till you fix the meter? City Hall is hindering business.

Re: Parking Meters
A simple email to the parking folks at City Hall will solve this problem. They are very responsive to seeing that parking meters are repaired. I had a very positive experience with them on this.

Re: Parking Meters
my point is,
I've seen parking enforcement personal, issue tickets, I've seen them collect the coins from the meter, they must have visited that meter at least once? Wouldn't you think, the parking enforcer would report it? It's their duty, a part of the job. I have to send an e-mail? really? Am I on Candid Camera?

Jack, lol, you hit the head on the nail again, what if some thief decided to break into half of the cities parking meters, in the midst of the night, along Detroit & Madison Avenue, $$$? if you broke it, you cannot promote it, you can't park there, the business's suffer, their patrons their customers can't park there, for fear of a ticket, cause it's broke? What?
