Superintendent Jeffery Patterson To Step Down Tonight

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

This evening Lakewood Public Schools Superintendent Jeffery Patterson will be stepping down as Administrative head of Lakewood Schools.

At lunch last week Superintendent Patterson told me, "Jim, now is the right time for me to step down. The schools have been built, and financing in place for the next handful of years. I have done what was needed to get this school system to where it needed to be. This will also give the incoming Superintendent a chance to get up and running and well established hopefully before any crisis should hit.

I personally will miss Jeff, he has always been an honest straight shooter, and was good for Lakewood Schools when we needed good leadership. He will stay in the area for at least a couple years until he figures out what is next.

The Lakewood School Board will begin its search for the next Superintendent immediately, though Patterson will stay on until one is found.

Enjoy your retirement!
