Lakewood Fire Department Says Goodbye To Another

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

If you were wondering what was going on at Madison and Warren Road yesterday around 11:30am, it was a funeral procession for a firefighter that had passed away.

As is often the practice if a fireman is being laid to rest, and passes another fire station if not busy fighting a fire, they will stop and salute a fallen first responder.

Such was the case as Lenny Gaertner's funeral procession drove by. Here stopping for 30 seconds before moving on.

With everything our Lakewood Fire and Police have been through in recent years, it pays to stop and reflect.

Thank you Lakewood Fire and Police.
