Most Vulnerable City Councilman?
Here's a topic worth discussing.
Which council member up for re-election is the most vulnerable?
Who is most likely to lose their seat?
The pit bull controversy is getting bigger. All three challengers for the At-Large seats have committed to ending the BSL ordinance.
At least one of the incumbents will lose their job, IMO.
Will it be Cindy Marx? Or Ryan Nowlin, or the ever contentious Bullock?
What say you all?

Re: Most Vulnerable City Councilman?
Real answer: NONE
They've got all the Democratic party machinery endorsements and big money behind them.
They expect to send out big glossy mailers in October that will impress the voters and demonize the challengers.
Like Trump, they know that voters have short attention spans....they are banking on it.
They already got away with giving away the hospital, so this little kerfluffle should be a "piece of cake".
Unless the town turns out in big numbers, they will all return to their comfy little chairs in January.....more rubber stamping, more racism, more decline.

Don't agree.
While the Hospital issue should have convinced anyone who took a few minutes to actually read that our leaders were corrupt, the pit bull ban is attracting attention from all demographics.
Especially for younger voters, it's much more visceral than an old building they never had a use for (YET - although that will come back to haunt them later.) And, it doesn't require any real effort to understand.
I predict an upset. I'm thinking possibly 2 will lose.
While I'd like to see all 3 be retired, I'll take two!

Re: Most Vulnerable City Councilman?
There is a groundswell of support for electing new faces on Council because of anger over the Pit Bull ban.
While I believe the hospital situation warranted a change, it appears that a little dog will be their downfall. All those "millennials" the city claims it's attracting happen to like their pit bull dogs.
You bit off more than you realize, incumbents. It's finally caught up to you.

They will have their deep campaign war chests (courtesy of many leading local Republicans)....."The Puppets" are still the favorites.

Well Mike, you seem pretty confident BUT, if I were Marx, Nowlin, or Bullock, I'd be looking at Plan B.

As to whom wins the council-at-large positions depends upon whether or not the votes are tampered with in this election.

I don't agree on that.....there is no "Russia style" conspiracy in play.Lori Allen _ wrote:As to whom wins the council-at-large positions depends upon whether or not the votes are tampered with in this election.
Team Summers buys their elections the American way -- spend lots on advertising, spread a lot of lies, and do everything you can to keep turnout low.

You forgot to add - get donations from political heavy hitters, the Clinic, and developers. Lots of money to spend fooling the people!

There is nothing to be gained being correct in pointing out the possible/probable regarding incumbents in this election.
There is a lot to be lost in dampening down enthusiasm for the challengers who at the very least have not lied to us.
Who at their best believe in truth and transparency in government.
Bullock. Marx. Nowlin.
Hold them accountable for the divisiveness.
Hold them accountable for the lies, the machinations.
Target them.
Kick them to the curb.

Makes sense to me.
They don't trust us with the truth.
They sit silent while the very residents that elected them have to fight in court for public documents.
They have helped to hide facts and the truth.
They knowingly sat silent while City Hall officials, and City Hall employees broke laws, endangered residents, and benefited from their illegal actions.
Kick them to the curb.
