Lakewood Has Money to Burn!

Post by Bridget Conant »

The Charlie dog has been ordered out of Lakewood within 30 days.

I guess Lakewood is prepared to go to court to fight for the ban despite the Ohio Appeals Court ruling that BSL laws are unconstitutional in Ohio.

How many court cases against Lakewood now?

They will lose AND it's costing us money.

Of course, it's not coming out of Mike Summers' or Kevin Butler's pocket.

I suggest people look at places like the WKYC Facebook page. There are almost 100 comments already, heavily against the Lakewood decision.

In fact, some are calling for people to avoid the city - shop, eat, and drink elsewhere.

Does this city administration have a clue what effect this will have?

Fox 8 Facebook page up to 453 comments. Not pretty.

Lakewood is getting bashed big time.

Thanks, Summers.

People should be upset, BSL do not work and punish good families with good dogs. Are we safer now that Charlie has to leave?

To make a mutt of a metaphor the City screwed the pooch by letting Charlie stay for 100 days thereby totally discrediting the argument that he or his breed is dangerous.

Ohio Supreme Court ruling against City of Reynoldsburg, Ohio.

Bottom line .... "there is a conflict between Reynoldsburg's pit bull Ordinances and (ORC) chapter 955, as amended by House Bill 14."

Lakewood tax dollars will soon be spent defending Chapter 506 of its Codified Ordinances.

Won't you be my neighbor?"

The last time I checked, Lakewood had quite a few court cases going on. They appear to not care about stealing Lakewood Hospital away from the tax payers of Lakewood. They appear to think it is OK to let Cleveland Clinic put a clinic in the tax payer's high school and try to fool us with unsigned documents. Why would they care about a poor defenseless animal?

It is not their money they are peeing away, it is ours, and yet, we have no say in the matter.

I believe a full audit, done by the Auditor of the State of Ohio , is in order for both the city and the Lakewood City School District. Both of these entities have appeared to have abused their use of power and money.

They appear to trow "kick back" bones to each other and don't give a damn about our pets or how we the citizens feel. How about a vote? Let the people choose!

Aren't the schools and the city planning on asking the tax payers for more money in 2018? Good luck with that!
