Around 11:00 a.m. this morning, city crews were spotted placing cylinder-shaped, concrete blocks on Rosewood Ave. Specifically, the blocks were being placed to block Rosewood Ave. to vehicular traffic between Park Place and Hilliard.
A forklift, along with trucks 120, 170, and 100 were spotted doing this work.
Does anyone know the reason for this? The concrete cylinders indicate to me that this is a permanent closure.
If a road is blocked off in this manner, the reason for the closure should be backed up with an engineering study, and not someone's arbitrary opinion. If an engineering study was conducted in regards to this closure, I would be interested in seeing it.
I will allow some time for an explanation. However, this seems similar to when Gilmore Ave. in Cleveland was closed to traffic in the same fashion. We then learned that a Cleveland Board of Education member lived there, and that's why it was closed.
Of course, we cannot forget that Niagara was closed off to traffic at South Marginal right around the time Mr. Butler became law director, when Mr. Butler conveniently lives right around the corner.
Living on Rosewood, we have a councilman, a building inspector, and a fireman. I'm sure this didn't have anything to do with it.

They are painting a mural on the street so we forget how badly Bullock and City Hall has lied to us.

Re: Rosewood Ave. Closed?
Wagar Park is due for redesign. Several public meetings held with residents some at the park itself. Several designs included the closing of Rosewood.
The public art project was announced a few weeks ago. The local design firm (and by local I mean 2 blocks from Rosewood) Chartreuse is handling the public art. Closing Rosewood
More details and the concepts here:

Public art design here:

Besides Madison and Lakewood Park, Wagar has the most potential to help with the lean green space offerings in Lakewood. I am pretty excited on a couple elements of the designs. Great turnout at the meetings and feedback.

Thank you for the links, was this an open bidding process, or is Chartreuse doing this for free?

Could city hall be trying to dump the money?
I hate to tell them, but, I believe it is too late for that!
