TV Alert: Academic Challenge 6/17 at 7pm

A friendly reminder that the LHS team will compete in the championship match of the Academic Challenge TV show on Saturday, June 17 at 7pm.
It will be broadcast on Channel 5.

Also, props to the "non-televised" Ranger AC teams for their strong performance in the National Academic Championship tournament in Chicago. The varsity team finished 6-2 and in fifth place overall while the JV team finished 3-3.

LHS team us Academic Challenge Champion!
The Lakewood High School Academic Challenge Team captured its first-ever championship of the WEWS-NewsChannel 5's Academic Challenge!
The team of seniors Ian Bell and Evan Suttell and junior Brian Donahoe beat teams from St. Vincent St. Mary and Benedictine high schools for the win.
Besides the trophy, the win earned the school $4,000. 
Congratulations to the team and to advisers Peter Petto and Bob Sedlak.

Besides the feat itself, it's heartening to see the community excited on Facebook etc. over an academic competition.
