Community Conversation in Birdtown
I will be hosting a series of community forums throughout the year to give Ward 4 residents an opportunity to ask questions, express concerns, or share ideas to improve our city and neighborhoods. These town hall-style meetings will also give residents a chance to learn about what's happening at Lakewood City Hall and important new initiatives for our community.

Bravo!
I only wish the Councilmen from other Wards were this sincere about transparency, sharing, listening to expression of concerns, etc.

You still haven't answered the question, "What is your position on Lakewood's Law Director and Public Records Keeper, Kevin Butler, refusing to turn over public records in this current case?" This is a legitimate question that deserves a response. It's impossible to take you seriously as an advocate for transparency if you're going to continually duck this question.

Thank you for reiterating this question. It seems reasonable enough.
I would encourage any Lakewood resident that is able, to attend this meeting, even if you are not Ward 4. This question could then be brought up at this meeting. It would be much more difficult to "duck" an answer in this environment (provided the answer is not scripted beforehand).
As I have said before, I find it odd that any sitting city councilman would not be openly condemning a law director that, from what it appears, is turning his nose up to the law.

Hello Dan,
You still haven't answered the question, " What is your position on Lakewood's Law Director and Public Records Keeper, Kevin Butler, refusing to turn over public records in this current case?"
This is a legitimate question that deserves a response. Again, it's impossible to take you seriously as an advocate for transparency if you are going to continually duck this question.
C'mon Mr. O'Malley, channel your " Inner Orwell" and answer the question.

Mr. O'Malley this is a get up/stand up moment and it appears you've chosen to slouch in silence.

A headline on Cleveland.com today caught my eye:
Ohio Supreme Court Trending Towards Open Government, Recent Rulings Show.
But what really grabbed my attention was the opening sentence:
Transparency is trending on The Ohio Supreme Court.
Mr. O'Malley, Any chance transparency is trending with you.
Any chance you'll step up and answer the question: " What is your position on Lakewood's Law Director and Public Records Keeper, Kevin Butler, refusing to turn over public records in this current case?"
Mr. O'Malley it's a get up/stand up moment, you standing down is not a good look.

Re: Community Conversation in Birdtown
Unfortunately, I had a prior engagement and was unable to attend the meeting to ask the pressing question, regrettably.
Was anyone else able to attend the meeting and ask Mr. O'Malley where he stands on Law Director Kevin M. Butler's seemingly unethical and seemingly unlawful behavior in regards to public records?
If not, it is not too late for Mr. O'Malley to answer the question here.
