Should City Council Allow Goats in Lakewood?
Perhaps they could control some of the overgrown grass.
Not being negative, but I am hoping some people will recognize the gravity of this. Not only is it unfair to those that cut their grass, but it will not make a good impression when the convention comes to town and tourists visit Lakewood.
Where are the mayor and council on this? They get paid to watch for this stuff, I don't.
FWIW.

Re: Should City Council Allow Goats in Lakewood?
Cows may work better considering they don't eat everything, like goats.
Unleash a bunch of goats and they'll devour a garden for a snack. Could be problematic in Lakewood.
I do remember seeing a flock of sheep out near Quay 55 on some grass a few years ago, looked like a great solution to keep the grass down.
Now that we have the hens, can goats, sheep or cows be far behind? The tourists would love it!

Nature is beautiful. Who knows the circumstances, what is it really hurting? What I hate is perfect lawns that have been doused with harmful chemicals for all the pets to stick their nose in and eat, also the children playing on a chemical laden lawn, tracking the weed killer and fertilizer into the house and on the carpet. I wonder why so many people get cancer? More to come. So yes we should allow goats. If City Council can allow itself to give away our Healthcare and Revenue bring on the Goats, not more chemicals!

Not Baaaaaaaaaad Council Saves Green, Going Green Lakewood's New Trash Pick Up Plan Announced
As a budget cutting measure, Lakewood’s City Council has passed an emergency resolution to end trash collection in Lakewood, effective April, 1st. Councilman Mike Summers, as chair of Council’s Finance Committee, has consistently made it clear that Lakewood can no longer afford business as usual. Trash removal became a target for budget cuts. He challenged the Fitzgerald administration, and fellow council members to come up with a solution.

Also, there could be this sort of problem.

I could not believe my eyes when I saw the first two lawns in the first three pictures of this video. One is on Newman and the other is on Wascana. They have looked like this for weeks. Am I the only one seeing this? Where are the councilpersons? Where is Lord?
Now that spring has sprung, Lord needs to ensure that his subjects are cutting their grass!
This means that council and Lord must walk, drive, and/or bike their wards and the city, respectively. It is quite evident that the decline did not happen overnight. It started in January of 2010. Now it has taken off like a snowball going through hell!

While out and about in Lakewood today, it appears our grass problem, ( the kind you mow! ), is still a huge issue here in Lakewood. Are Lord and Company on vacation?

Summers and council members fiddle while Lakewood burns. Time to shut down their crusade.

Perhaps this has some relevance:
"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized." - See more at: http://constitution.findlaw.com/amendme ... 7VZhw.dpuf

Re: Should City Council Allow Goats in Lakewood?
This is a vacant lot on Thoreau. Apparently, this lot changed hands from the Cuyahoga Land Bank to the City of Lakewood on 3/1/17. Interestingly however, there is a small sign in the yard that says "Cuyahoga Land Bank, no trespassing".
Who actually owns this? Who knows? County or city?
Whomever, owns it, could they please cut the grass? Thanks.

Re: Should City Council Allow Goats in Lakewood?
It appears that City Hall has been reading the Deck, but we knew this already. I am pleased to report that the lot I mentioned the other day on Thoreau has been mowed. It is now a beautiful, well-kept greenspace.
A big thanks to City Hall and all whom made mowing this grass possible. I knew you could do it!
Now, if we could get Nick & Bryan moving on cutting the grass on their now-vacant lot at 13351-53-55 Madison Avenue. After all, they do, according to public records, still appear to be cheating Lakewood and Cuyahoga County taxpayers out of $60,000 in demolition fees and $89,000 in delinquent property taxes, respectively. Could Nick cough up some of his house-flipping profits to buy a lawn mower?
City Hall, if you cannot locate an address to send Nick or Bryan a citation for this grass, please get in touch with me. Thanks!
Go for it, City Hall! You can do it!
