Public records recently released reveal that Law Director Butler has kept certain of his dealings with the Clinic and LHA secret from City Council and the public.
In a recent Court filing, Mr. Butler wrote "tens (and possibly hundreds) of thousands" of records have not been produced. Many of these public records concern Mr. Butler's dealings and interactions with the Clinic, LHA, Huron Consulting and others. Has she made City Council aware of these records and his dealings?
How much more taxpayer money will Lakewood City Council allow the Law Department to spend to defend the Clinic and keep Summers' and Butler's dealings with the Clinic, Huron Consulting and LHA secret from City Council and the citizens of Lakewood?
Mr. Kindt recently suggested write Council to have them ask for an independent investigation of the Law Department.
Does anyone on Council have the courage to speak up and call for an investigation or reign in an out of control Law Department spending public money to defend itself?
Cindy Marx, where do you stand on Lakewood's Law Director withholding public records?
Your unwillingness to answer this question is troubling. I know change can be scary but just repeat to yourself TRANSPARENCY/GOOD.

Mr. Nowlin - Silence is complicity. You're a lawyer. You're seeking re-election to Lakewood City Council. Your refusal to answer where you stand on Lakewood's Law Director withholding public records is an embarrassment.m buckley wrote:m buckley wrote:Ryan Nowlin, where do you stand on Lakewood's Law Director withholding public records?m buckley wrote:Ms. Marx - I'm still hoping for a response. To the extent that there is a reasonable expectation that those who seek to represent us will insist on truth and transparency in government, you are an embarrassment.

I think he has lawyered up too!
The question is: is he utilizing Lakewood's legal counsel or legal counsel from his previous LHA capacity?

Mr. Litten- Somehow " Where do you stand on Lakewood's Law Director withholding public records?" has become an unanswerable question. Why is that ? Why can't you answer that question? What's the calculation that you've made that it's better not to answer that question?m buckley wrote:m buckley wrote:Mr. Litten- Where do you stand on Lakewood's Law Director withholding public records? Mr. Litten, it's going to be very difficult to take you at face value from here on out.
TRANSPARENCY/GOOD...LYING,HIDING,WITHOLDING/BAD. Try practicing it sometime.
