Here's an example of a very political appointments process.

If you want more examples, just let me know. I'm here to help.

I stopped by the office, Lakewood Alive, the CDBG program directors informed me, that Lakewood doesn't get there funds from Cuyahoga County, (that's why they were not included in the Plain Dealers list of cities receiving funds), due to the number of residents in Lakewood, they get there funds directly from the Federal Government, and are participating in the program again this year. wa hoo.

Mr. Rice, I embrace that statement. I believe in it.
Might I suggest that you grab three postcards and reprint that statement in all it's glorious truth.
Mail one to Mayor Summers who has lied to us.
Mail one to City Council c/o O'Leary and Anderson who hid from us.
And mail one to Law Director Kevin Butler, who to this day withholds public records from us.

I have my OWN opinions about all of this, and I have certainly expressed them freely over the past decade or so; with many columns in the Lakewood Observer, and many more postings on this 'Deck. :D

Post card writing has its place, of course. :D

In fact, I've often felt that establishing direct contact with the person with whom one has a concern is so much better than posting public complaints in a chat room.

Others can write all the postcards they please, but since this is a country with a very nice First Amendment...

You all can write what you want to. I'll write what I want to, as well, but not right now, except for this one suggestion... :D

Get involved. :D

While I fully understand, emphasize, and share with many of you some very strong feelings about many things that have happened in this city, it is with our RESPONSE to those feelings that I feel we could improve. It's NOT about "moving on", or "forgetting the past", but rather in trying to be presently more constructive in our collective approach to Lakewood's future. :D

Beyond all that, don't worry. :D

If and when I have more to say, I'll say it.

Brilliant!

I believe our city "leaders" might be deserving of the "postcard treatment" since they apparently approve of such things.
