Thanks, Brian.Brian Essi wrote:The "City of Lakewood" is both a plaintiff and a defendant and even though Ed, Amy, DL, Bill, and Marguerite are also plaintiffs, my reading of the complaint is that they are are essentially pursuing a claim on the City's behalf (and our behalf as taxpayers).Dan Alaimo wrote:I'd like to understand better how that is going to work, more specifically.dl meckes wrote: The rest of the money goes to the taxpayers.
Again my question: who gets the money?
So it would appear that if there is any money to be paid (after attorneys fees and costs), that money would be paid to the City. Presumably if it ever comes to that, the judgment entry could be fashioned so that the money is earmarked or put in a special funds.
So, for example, it doesn't just get put in the General Fund and get spent on the Active Living Task Force or New Foundation Task Force or other "well intentioned" but fiscally questionable "dreams".
A thought on what it could be used for: pay for ambulance services to the various hospitals, and perhaps one of those mobile stroke units to be stationed in Lakewood.
