A Gay, Muslim, Pakistani American's View of The Election
Someone asked that I post this.
Do we in Lakewood live in a bubble?
The Build Lakewood folks unfriend people on Facebook who they don't agree with?
Everyone who disagreed with them is "craczy" with "Tin Hats".
Huh??
FYI I am not a fan of Glenn Beck but this piece made me think.

That's a 2 way street. I have been blocked by Bridget Condent and Mike Deneen on Facebook. I don't care that they blocked me. Maybe they want their Facebook world to be unicorns and glitter without any of my comments. Either way, no biggie. That's their prerogative. I have no problem with that.just wanted to point out that folks on the SLH side have also blocked people from the BL side.
FYI, not a fan of Glenn Beck either.

This whole thing has been a unnecessary cancer on our city that went on much longer than it had to. I make no apologies for my position, and I accept that those on the other side believed in their position. What I don't accept is those that split us into warring tribes, and who didn't take the opportunity to cut the battle short, even though it may well have ended the same way.Patrick Wadden wrote:Brian Essi wrote:Someone asked that I post this.

Thank you. You have proven the point of the author. Unlike Ms. Conant and Mr. Deneen who engaged in open and exposed themselves and their views to scrutiny, the BL crowd largely drew the shades and hid in their glass bubbles from debate.
You may be a BL unicorn here spreading glitter---you come on here regularly but added little substance as to addressing any fact or postion you may have held.
The fact remains that 100% of elected leaders, the BL leaders like Carson and their special interest institutions refused to address the facts or engage openly and honestly with 48.5% of Lakewood.
Like elitist Clinton and her corporatist and institutional "liberals", the Lakewood elitists have dug their own graves.
The easy part for them is over--they took only
19 months to approve the "crime"---now they have to perform it---the tougher 1/2 of this deal just started.
You want people to waive a white flag and some will and I respect them.
I have not yet begun to fight.
Everything we have seen so far has been foreplay.
As real people get hurt, the elitist towers will crumble and we all will see what and who are really behind the curtain.
What the BL crowd has hidden from will be exposed.

Thank You Brian! You have been one of our biggest assets against the healthcare and money takeover in Lakewood. You have provided real information to citizens in Lakewood about what is really happening. It is more than disgusting what Mayor Summers has done to the healthcare of all the people in Lakewood, not to mention the increase of financial instability it will cause. I am deeply concerned about the safety of people that live in Lakewood. In my opinion there is no greater sin than to ignore the health and welfare of the people you were elected to protect. Also the people that voted for 64 while knowing it was a bad deal is crazy, certainly people that did not really understand voted for it anyway. That is my opinion.

Do you think it is just happenstance, that a small group of people dedicated to changing Lakewood in a city based on Commercial Economic Development, instead of families, that have tried development scheme (UK term) after development scheme for the past 15 years just happen to be on both of the two private groups getting money from the liquidation of Lakewood's single biggest and best asset?
It was never about health care, NEVER EVER, it was about, to quote one Lakewood Voter's for Progress writer, "the two pots of gold" that they now get to play with anyway they want, on at least 5 acres of publicly owned land, with another couple acres coming on line, thanks to their help elsewhere in the city.
This is the truth I speak of. This wasn't the clinic leaving, it was a group of citizens giving them a hell of a deal to leave early, as long as they got money to play with.
This is why the very real Metro deal for $100 million was killed. No money for the gang to play baby foundation with.
The Cleveland Clinic was never not going to offer 53,000 residents health care.
This is why my earliest post were about magic tricks and watch what the left hand is doing. SLH, and even Essi payed right into their charade. Clinic evil, poor City Hall getting screwed.
Problem is, Brian Essi is who he claims to be, a bulldog looking to help those that cannot help themselves. He starts digging, and comes up with nightmare after nightmare. They put a lid on sharing anymore documents. Just enough to make the Clinic remain the enemy/red herring.
As I said many time. LHF said straight up front they were taking the money, moving it through another fiduciary agent, change purpose, and bring it back in.
Cleveland Clinic was happy with the deal, it was good for them. CCF said straight up from day one. "We are closing the hospital." They even provided timelines, and people to speak with at every turn. Again we have zero control on the clinic. ANYTHING they did was above and beyond the call. Keeping they ads in the LO until they left.
However the third and fourth partners, rarely told the truth, fought to keep everything secret, and now still fight to release legal documents, emails, etc.
Two years, notice, no name for the new organizations. No board, no amounts, nothing.
Do you really think they planned for five years, and never planned how to spend the loot?

Destruction of the biggest local charity and local healthcare is not a red herring--it is the red tide.
No worries though. It is barely half time. Team Summers just finished their 19 month "slam dunk".
They still have the ball and Mike's magic beans have been planted in the Atrium of the empty hospital building.

I'm fairly sure, although there are any number of people who can correct me, that there was talk of why it would be wonderful, in spite of the heavy concentration of children, to tear down Grant School and not rebuild. Then the school board could take down the old School Board Building, knock out the Post Office, and have this giant area to redevelop.
My goodness. Just imagine how many town homes we could have. It could be Summersville, the Town of Town Homes!

Can we petition Summers to change his name to Potter? Then we could be Pottersville.dl meckes wrote:My goodness. Just imagine how many town homes we could have. It could be Summersville, the Town of Town Homes!

Jim,
You are spot on! I believe that 90% of those wanting to save the hospital are great, hard working folks, but, they appear to not have been reading a lot of my posts. Some of my posts have been pretty good at showing some evidence that points to alleged money laundering, alleged illegal use of HUD and grant money, alleged theft of residents homes, including minorities, alleged vote rigging, etc.
That is why I decided to join another group of folks who are busy working round the clock on many issues happening at City Hall that allegedly are illegal. I felt that this group was where we really should be digging for answers.
As important as the hospital was and still is, it truly is a small fraction of the total damage and alleged fraud that Summers, Council and Extended Family have been doing to the tax payers of Lakewood.
There will be MUCH more to come, pending further investigations.

Lori,
You're a good investigator and a good advocate for the residents of Lakewood.
You're right, the hospital is a big mess and a major theft but is only a part of what is wrong in this city.
