That will be interesting.
I assume they don't pay property taxes?

There is more coming. Think vertical, non-tax payers, paying rent...Bridget Conant wrote:That will be interesting.

Stan
I ran into one of the Murman's girls just the other night, and she asked, "Do you remember our stores?"

If this is true, then it is another part of the shell game---zero sum shifting of jobs from one part of the city to another.
How many people are employed by the USPS in Lakewood?
Mayor Summers,
What's the real Plan?
Do you even have one?
Why can't you be open and honest with Lakewood?

Councilman Anderson
Councilman O'Malley
You both read here. Can at least one of you comment?
Are there plans for the Lakewood Post Office to move to the hospital site?
Or, is this "top secret," like so much of the city administration's machinations?

Re: Lakewood Post Office Moving To Hospital Site
Because a bunch of truck traffic, innumerable car trips, and constrained parking is a GREAT idea sandwiched in the tiny space between Detroit's retail and the residential neighborhood. Will be great to see USPS trucks up and down and back and forth on Belle and Marlowe, and Detroit.
Since the hospital has been outsourced to Avon, why not outsource the post office to Rocky River?

I am not aware of any discussions about plans for the former hospital site, whether for a post office or anything else.Bridget Conant wrote:Councilman Anderson

Bill call, who was it that was "close to the mayor" that you got your information from? Probably won't name them.

The City is not involved if there are such talks.

Not to the City's knowledge.

You would need to talk to the owners of the property if they are talking about their property: PSENICKA FAMILY, LLC.

Have the city disposed of the 5.7 acres?

No because the Cleveland Clinic s leasing it for their Emergency Department and outpatient services until their own facility is built across the street which is slated to open in mid-2018.

There is no rumor that the City owns the 5.7 acres where the former hospital building still stands on the southeast corner of Belle and Detroit, and is leasing it to the Cleveland Clinic until they complete the construction of their Family Health Center and Emergency Department on the property that they bought from the City earlier this year on the southwest corner of Belle and Detroit. The current post office building at 1475 Warren Road has nothing to do with the city or the hospital.
