Nice To See, Lakewood Busy

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

Last evening as I walked to the car!

Over the canyon it looked more ominous!

Off for dinner, I take many laps around Lakewood in the course of a day, and observe many things. One thing I noticed was the spotty business restaurants seemed to do all summer. Even some of the hottest places in town had off nights. I would say everyone except 16-Bit, Around the Corner, and Foundry Concert Club had a slower than usual summer. However it would seem Fall weather, high school football, and great food and service had Lakewood cranking!

Rozi's has become the place to have a fundraiser wine tasting on the westside. Usually crowded, last night it was packed and overflowing.

sarita, which seems to be more of a destination than local, was packed all night. Great to see!

Every where seemed to be jumping, and after the game it just got busier.

Gorgeous photos.

I don't get around as much of Lakewood, but I have gone out and strolled up and down western Madison a number of evenings in recent months. I can say that, if el barrio had a slow summer, I'm not sure what they will do in a busy period. It seems like the outside seating has been consistently near overflowing, no matter what night of the week I pass by.

Here's a different perspective--- I get out for an early morning walk around 4 AM. When I reach Arthur/Madison I get the left over aromas in the air of BBQ, and all sorts of cooking.
Gets me stoked for breakfast!

This is a great thread. Thanks Jim.

You are correct Barrio rocked it all summer, at all of their locations. Hard to argue with good $3.00 tacos and Blaze Sauce. Pier W seems impervious, though more and more are doing happy hour instead of dinner. Taco Tontos still good following, Tai Hut since enlarging, is packed, B2B seems to have hit their stride.

Glad to hear that assessment of B2B. It seemed like something was due to stick, in that spot, sooner or later.
