SSUMMERS DESPERATELY SEEKS ENDORSEMENT

Mike Summers and his faithful followers on Council are desperately seeking an endorsement--any kind of an endorsement--for his futile attempt to shoot down those urgent voters to vote AGAINST Issue 64.

Last month, at a raucous, sometimes out of control Lakewood Democratic Club meeting, he and his allies failed in a sneak attack on the VOTE AGAINST ISSUE 64 group, by scheduling an endorsement vote at that meeting. It blew up in their collective faces. The club leadership looked foolish in its attempt, which included clandestine moves to delay or deny access to the club's membership membership list so that members could be alerted about the meeting within the club's own required notification time frame.

However, it was reported that Tom Bullock had the list before others and was strutting about the room like a proud peacock. Summers and his allies looked more grumpy and nervous as the evening wore on and all of their attempts to pull of a fast one were defeated in multiple votes led by State Senator Mike Skindell and his allies.

So in preparation for the next monthly club meeting on Thursday, Sept. 29th, Summers and company have appealed to the heavy hitters at the County Democratic Partyand even convinced them to come Mahall's to endorse his bad deal ordinance that robbed this city of its largest employer and hospital in order to help his pals at the Clinic.

Tomorrow night's (Sept. 27th) meeting at the bowling alley's second floor starts at 7 PM and is open to the public. It is befitting that this no-so-veiled attempt to grab any kind of endorsement is being held in the very place where secret meetings were held to hatch plans to deceive the public about the truth of closing Lakewood Hospital.

By the way, Mahall's is now owned by Summers' public information officer, Colin McKewen.

No doubt we will see former council member Mary Louise Madigan there as well as many countywide committee members.
Madigan was promoted to a high paying job as spokesperson for the County's government.

I have been told by a couple of veteran Democratic committee members that they cannot remember an instance where the whole countywide committee went to a particular city to endorse a local issue.

Remember that Lakewood is a unique also in the United States for its politicians worked hard to drive out more than 1,100 jobs, lose millions of dollars, and aid unabashedly in closing its acute care hospital in order to favor their friends and aid a multi-billion non-profit health care system.

The National League of Cities last year said there are more than 19,000 cities, villages and townships in our nation and they never heard of a mayor and city council actively work to drive out jobs!

Also, I am waiting for all of those people from all over the country who were were supposed to flock here to see so called world class care, according the Clinic doctors who told Council and people that would come about, if we allowed them to close our hospital!

Reject the lies and VOTE AGAINST Issue 64 and show these errant politicians that this community knows a very bad deal when it sees it!

You all are going to need non-fanatical voters to vote your way. I suggest you all get out of the sensationalist name calling business and stick to the clear facts, which should be more than enough information to sway anyone. These types of posts where you make it seem so nefarious/insidious aren't going to find you any new voters - rather I think they cause people to glaze over whatever solid information you bring to the table. All the people that buy into the evil mayor just wants money for himself hypothesis are already on your side. True or false, that narrative doesn't play among the common people. The mayor's long history of positive contribution in this city and ability to connect with people make that avenue a dead end for you.

Stick to the hard facts on why the deal is bad.

This new meeting may be a reaction to the Dem club meeting last month where both sides were surprised by the results. The anti-hospital people were surprised that their preferred agenda was not passed, while the pro-hospital people were surprised to find, by the end of the evening, that they could have won the endorsement that night. So we need everyone back again and more, because the other anti-hospital folks will certainly pull out all the stops.

The meeting tomorrow night is only for Lakewood members of the Cuyahoga County Executive Committee.
These people are in Team Summers pocket, so I'm sure they will endorse 64.

Keep in mind, this is the same group of deep thinkers that said Hillary would be a much better candidate than Bernie against Trump.
This is the group of deep thinkers that believed Ted Strickland's "name recognition" made him the right choice to face Portman.

Perhaps the executive meeting is to "discuss" which persons that were born in 1900 & 1902 will come back from the dead and vote on Nov. 8th.

Or perhaps it is to "discuss" who will vote from an address they either never lived at or have not lived at in years! Who cares if the house is occupied by someone else, right?
