Lakewood Voters for Progress? Save Lakewood Hospital? Neither?

There is a massive misconception around the City of Lakewood that you are either a member of Lakewood Voters For Progress, or Save Lakewood Hospital. That's a falsehood.

There is a much larger and growing faction of the community, that is desperate for accountability, transparency, and an honest discussion about what went on and why? And not until we have that discussion and understanding do we dare make our next move. The Community of Lakewood has every right to see the documents, and understand why we lost our anchor after decades of doing everything to secure it? At the same time, to rush off headlong into something that has only been discussed for weeks, seems like a terrible way to actually plan the future of all.

A group of us that believe, we might not need a hospital, but what is the impact, and why did we lose it? Never honestly explained. Never, Documents not being made available that should be.

At the same time we are witnessing a war of misinformation tearing the community apart, why can't the city just make it public and clear it up?

Mayor Summers, you alone can stop this, make the records public.

Be that Mayor that brought wellness, honesty and accountability to Lakewood.

I think a retired graphic designer/photographer is a bad source on running a multi-million dollar medical facility. No OMG, a simple fact.

However I hope we can all agree no matter what we do, our age, our place in life, that.

ELECTED OFFICIALS SHOULD NOT LIE, and CITY HALL SHOULD BE TRANSPARENT.

We have a mayor and council members that have lied about the biggest deal in Lakewood for 50 years. Not made mistakes, but made premeditated lies to confuse and buy time.

That alone should make everyone want to see the paperwork.

But when the government spent hundreds of thousands of tax payer dollars for Crisis Management, false mailings, and a strategy to misinformation and intimidate voters.

Everything needs to stop, this a a major moment in Lakewood, we need to check it. Months ago I feared the i's remained undotted, and t's not crossed. Well it seems like it is much worse than that.

I'm not a member of anything but the Observer. I am tired of the lies and BS, Mayor Summers can stop all of the crap, Monday morning at 8am.

He needs to open the books, disclose the thousands of documents he has fought to keep from the voters and public. Turn over the documents that have been requested by my lawyers, and others.

Let's be known as the city that is healthy in MIND and BODY.

Lakewood Hospital was profitable right until that point at which they transferred services (Cath Lab, etc) to other locations. PLUS the Cleveland Clinic was charging a $25M a year management fee to Lakewood, which existed nowhere else in the Clinic network. The Clinic and conspiring insiders worked against the hospital over a period of 5-8 years. Until the end, this was a week-financed and profitable hospital worth at least $150M in hard assets, with 1000 high-paying 24/7 jobs and an annual economic and healthcare benefit to the city that exceeded even that number. Yet the Clinic took all the hospital assets for pennies on the dollar - like $20-30M, in a rigged bidding process that favored only the Clinic and excluded other buyers.

Go to Fairview and Avon if you want to visit with Lakewood's assets, which were owned ultimately by the citizens of Lakewood.

I'm not saying that you want the same Lakewood Hospital, but you want a real hospital with the assets that belong to Lakewood. At this point those assets have been stolen.

Tell your friends. Read, read, and read some more. Tell them to VOTE. If they agree that Lakewood has been wronged, and don't want to agree to this disaster that is the master agreement, tell them to vote AGAINST the referendum.
