New Rules For The Deck Needed? Discussion

I have read them. Repeatedly. I wonder if you or moderators have.

I get it, everything is your/moderators discretion. This includes profanity, bumps, harassment, bullying, etc.

Enough discussion on this, nothing will change as we all can see. Someone just slipped in the word "pissed" into a post and nothing was done - see, nothing changes. Your discretion, I get it.

Enough already, this is getting, and has been, old for all of us. Jim = Observer/Deck. Jim may or may not = Moderator. Therefore Jim is either one or both, but either way Jim is an "us." See below.

The rule the Deck has been under since day one.
Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned, with notification of your Internet Service Provider if deemed required by us.

You agree that “The Observation Deck” have the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time should we see fit.

Potential New Rules

By registering at the Lakewood Observer Message Boards, users agree that any post deemed inappropriate may be removed at the sole discretion of the Lakewood Observer. Lakewood Observer also has the right, at its sole discretion, to revoke board privileges at any time without notice or reason.


Flaming, Bashing, Trolling, and Spam
Determination of flaming, trolling, and spam posts will be made at the discretion of mods.

Hacking, Scripting, and Altering Board Code
Accessing or using someone else's account is strictly prohibited. Hmmm. These actions are grounds for an immediate and permanent ban. Hmmm.

Bans
We only will discuss the nature, reason, and length of a ban with the user banned.

Questionable Content
Since we can't have a rule to cover everything, this is the rule to, well, cover everything.

These issues are left to the discretion of individual moderators, but may include any material that is knowingly false and/or defamatory, misleading, spammy, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, sexist, obscene, racist, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, that otherwise violates any law, or that encourages conduct constituting a criminal offense.

There are hundreds of of posts each day on the Lakewood Observer message boards, so we can't always promise you'll receive a warning every time action has to be taken. These are the rules you wrote, or wrote in collaboration, or agreed to, or signed off on. I have read them. There is nothing wrong with the rules, they protect the business as they should. I think the business forgets what is in the rules. Or the business has an identity crisis while changing between hats. either way, the business is trying to have it all. Whoever the business is.

You are talking about various aspects of being a victim, and/or purposely blowing up threads with which you and your team disagree. You can't seem to get unstuck from doing so, or it is indeed your purpose.

Most others on The Deck are talking about and sharing pictures of clouds, fauna, and nature. Most others are talking about community issues like trash, politics, hospitals, schools and high schools, athletics, city services, city hall, people in the city, businesses, roads and traffic, restaurants and food, weather, the performing arts, music, history, trees, parks, signs, homes, events...shared experiences. These are things of interest, often vital to the community of Lakewood. I have frequently referred to this as content.

I honestly don't think you'll get the distinction.

Enough already, move along and talk about your picture of clouds with fauna on the trees over a pile of trash near the hospital and down the street from a school athletic field that is being poorly serviced by the city services of City Hall while your business is suffering due to bad roads and traffic because of bad weather...because from I can tell, you lack content by your own definition. Check your posts again. Every. Single. One. Of. Them. While you are at it, check to see who is calling themselves victims time and time again. Then check again to see if those same people are trying to halt the freedom of speech. Then check again to see who is blowing up threads, or even more unoriginal - bumping and then bumping and then bumping again. I believe that is stuck in a rut by sheer repetition alone.
