By The Time I Got To Lincoln...

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

... it was a half a million strong! (Woodstock, Crosby, Stills and Nash)

Image
After the crowds of yesterday at Grant I parked a couple blocks away. And all along the way people were filtering to Lincoln. Reminding me of festivals of the past.

Image
Saying the Pledge of Allegiance, I stopped to see how many showed up...

Image
Possible 1,500 - 2,000 people? The playground was packed, and out of the photo. People already in the building!

As they officially ring the bell and open the doors, the crowd starts to get really big.

More photos later, we got this covered.

I would encourage all tax paying Lakewoodites, property owners, go and check out all three schools. They work perfectly together, and carry designs themes so subtly that while they are all different, they feel part of a larger system.

Roosevelt tomorrow!

Photos of all three from a week ago.

More from today later tonight and in the morning.

I noticed something at Lincoln tonight that we haven't seen in these parts for awhile. As I detoured with the dog around the back of the school, it dawned on me: there is a basketball hoop.

Do the other new schools have them?

Excellent job on Lincoln and I hope to see the others. Can't wait to see how the high school turns out.

Roosevelt has a half court hoop too. We'll see how that goes. Bayes Avenue is definitely not thrilled about this.
