What roads lead to a hospital?

I'd really like to know what is the best and fastest route to a hospital, any hospital, right now.
Warren, McKinley, Riverside and Wooster (in River) are all closed for construction southbound making the trip to Fairview difficult.
Soon the Lake Ave. ramp to the Shoreway will close for constructions, cutting off the fastest route to Lutheran and Metro for many of us.

To me it seems like the only ways out of town are Bunts/140th to travel south and east, and some side roads like Woodward to the McKinley entrance to I-90 for westbound.

I know the LFD will have it figured out, but many people rush to a hospital in their cars and may not know about the construction.

It seems to me to be poor planning. Who thought it was a good idea to close four heavily traveled roads, those that cross south over 1-90, all at the same time?

I have to zig zag my way to get to Riverside southbound south of Hilliard. And if you want to get on the 90 eastbound at McKinley, that left turn as you head westbound on Hilliard to swoop around back to the marginal is dangerous! You can't always see around the cars coming east on Hilliard to make sure the lane is clear to pull out. I'm worried there will be incidents there.

I think these are state projects but still, no coordination?

There is another route that you can take to get to a great hospital.

Take I-90 to I-490 and head downtown to East 22nd Street off ramp.

There you will see, not the Cleveland Clinic as they claim it has a downtown campus, but rather St. Vincent Charity Medical Center, the only downtown hospital in Cleveland.And it's been there for 150 years!

I have been so upset over these road closures. My gram (may she rest in peace) was in a nursing home then fell in that home and was rushed to Southwest Hospital (nursing home rules) and it took me forever to get there because of all the closed roads. At one point, I almost put the jeep in 4 wheel drive and went off road. Figured if I got caught by the police they could probably direct me how to go. It was a nightmare and since I am/was POA of her, these emergency runs I had to make out of the city became a horrible nightmare. Whoever planned this needs to be smacked hard upside the head.

Last week I went to a business on Lorain near Kamms (and Fairview) without any thought to planning the route, and it took a half hour.

My software business is in Middleburg Heights off of I-71, and I live in western Lakewood. Thankfully I don't go to the office every day, because this summer has been a nightmare. Riverside bridge over I-90 (over a year now!), Munn Road, and Warren/150th all impassable. What used to take about 18 minutes is now 30+ minutes. Thankfully, like today, I can just log on and keep up.

I suggest you ask Chief Gilman the quickest route. According to one of his answers given last year at the Winton meeting, he claimed that the Lakewood Fire department could make it to Metro Hospital and back in eight minutes!

In terms of Metro transports what I said was that on average it takes 8 minutes longer to get to Metro then it does to get to Lakewood. JOB has posted the times that it took him to make that drive more than once

Come on Dan, eight minutes to drive there, drop off a patient, do the paper work and drive back? I believe it is just more BS brought to us by Mike Summers through his new spokesman, Chief Gilman! Heaven forbid Summers ever come on the Deck and tell us the REAL TRUTH. He has to hide behind his puppets! Summers = Failure. Might as well add coward to his name too!

A friend of mine's family member was taken to Metro from Lakewood recently. The total turn-around time was roughly an hour and twenty minutes. I also knew a person on the Gold Coast that had a heart attack recently, it was almost an hour just to get to Fairview. I mean no disrespect, but I and other witnesses heard the statement about "Metro and back in eight minutes". I guess after a few runs, you found this not to be true. Then again, we all make mistakes. I think we all now realize that call times are taking longer than anticipated. This puts Lakewood residents in jeopardy. Remember the golden hour. If anyone at City Hall needs to be refreshed about what is involved in the golden hour, I'm sure Save Lakewood Hospital could hook them up with a reputable doctor that could explain it.

Better hope there are no accidents or traffic jams. Remember the golden hour! If you are driving yourself, you can't speed and you can't go through the red lights. Bottom line, 52,000 residents need a hospital here in Lakewood. I believe if it were not for Summer's and council's greed, it would still be here! Now we have to listen to the mayoral spokesperson, Chief Gilman, try to console use and tell us that everything is just fine. Please give the Lakewood resident's some credit, must of us know the real story!

The entire county is torn up. Like they were waiting until after the RNC so the millions and millions would not be hampered.

Going out to Parma, One must go Highland Ave. to W117, to Tiediman, to State, or Metro Parks to Snow. Every other north south road is torn up, detoured or closed.

I posted in a thread called Hospital the Truth, one of the first posts. Times to all hospitals from Warren Road, north of Detroit, was under 15 minutes. St. John's was the longest at 14, Avon was 12, Metro was 8, Fairview was 4, if I remember correctly.

In the old days they would rush to the hospital to stabilize, now they stabilize in the ambulance, forward vitals, and wheel you in.
