Alaskan Pigeons Over Downtown Lakewood - Great News!

Post by Jim O'Bryan »

Well maybe not if you own cats or small dogs.

Coming back to the office above Rozi's Wine House this afternoon, Deb noticed a couple Alaskan Pigeons aka Bald Eagles circling above Lakewood Center North Building. Over the years I have seen many thing flying over the buildings, recently vultures, as Vultures in our area seem to have tripled in numbers. This is not a metaphor, or a slam. Not sure why it is happening by I have seen as many as twenty turkey vultures/buzzards riding the thermals all over Lakewood, and Cleveland.

Wrong camera and lens, still you can see their white heads and white tails, and they were climbing as eagles do.

They disappeared to the north. The Bald Eagles are often seen along the lake.

The closest nest has produced 9 offspring in the past 7 years.

About 3.5' tall with 7' wingspan.

Nice to see.
