What started out as the ultra healthy Walk and Roll has taken on the feeling on another summer party in the streets, and that is not a bad thing. LakewoodAlive uses this and many events as a fundraiser for the various programs they run to benefit Lakewood, so anytime we can get a "fun tax" I am for it. Rent parties, even defense fund parties have a long history in America. This year LakewoodAlive's new event coordinator Noelle Champagne took over the duty of making sure things went great, and on a wonderful afternoon and early evening the crowds were as big as I can remember.

The Gary Bish Beer Garden opened, and music started. Lakewood lost Gary this past year, he loved volunteering and serving beer at Meltdown. It was a nice touch to see,
As the streets were cleared of vendors, the party cranked up down by Melt.
