The Observer vs The Deck

Post by Bridget Conant »

Since the Deck is under troll attack, it is important for casual readers to understand how Corey has cognitive issues and cannot understand basic differences in words like civil vs criminal, or more importantly, the differences between the "Observer" vs The Deck.

Corey has recently alleged that the Observer is biased.

The Lakewood Observer is a print media concern. Any Lakewoodite is free to pick up a copy or access it online. The Observer has been, without question, extraordinarily fair in publishing content that both supported mayor Summers and his plan to close the hospital, and articles and opinions in opposition. This is not opinion - it is out there for anyone to verify. I highly doubt that the Cleveland Clinic would advertise in the Observer, and continue to do so, if it were merely a biased political rag.

The Observation Deck, however, is an online forum where people can share opinions and information. It is voluntary. You may choose to participate or not. There is no pre-selection of individuals - it is a self selected group, as in all online forums. No one is asked their stance on issues before joining. Therefore, in any contentious issue you may have more or less participants favoring one "side" or another.

Online forums have no obligation, in fact they have no way, to insure an even division of viewpoints. There is nothing inherently unfair or illegal or wrong about this. It is what it is. It's a completely different entity than a print news outlet and has no legal obligation to insure that all sides are "evenly" represented.

Corey believes that he is a minority here and it bothers him. In fact he IS a minority because he has become a troll. He is an angry man who has decided to disrupt and annoy and damage the forum by making it virtually unreadable due to his posting of duplicate threads, constant bumping of his own threads, and responding to anything he think resembles him.

This is a common tactic of people who wish to shut down a board. Why? Ask Corey why.

Don't forget the entire thing is called Observer Project or Observer.

There is an Observer Newspaper and Observation Deck, I ageee. I have said many times that the Observer Newspaper is unbiased, please pay attention while attempting to lash out at me.
