Lakewood's parallel dilemma
If the allegations against Jim find him guilty in the lawsuit....
Should he give up his role at the Observer Project, where he has access to private information and an all access pass?
Would you hire him?
How long after the court case would it be acceptable to hire him?
Could he ever be trusted again?
This seems to closely parallel the situation with Rick Uldrick.
Will you still drink Jim's Kool Aid?

If you ignore the similarities, it will eventually wither away . . . each time a similar post is answered/replied to, all that it does is encourage more simililar behavior. Ignoring it is the only way to get it to stop.

Civil vs CRIMINAL
I guess that part is too hard for you two to understand.
I'd laugh if it wasn't so pathetic.

So, if I understand this...
Hitting somebody with your car and breaking their arm is not as bad as hitting someone with your truck and breaking their arm.
Now I inderstand. Thanks for clarifying your justification.

No parallel dilemma as far as I can see.
But Kool Aid?

For those who prefer to lurk in the shadows and lash out, not so much!

Re: Lakewood's parallel dilemma
Brain Essi must be getting close the truth. I sense panic on the part of the Mayors supporters.
Those supporters have used the resources of The City of Lakewood to harass and intimidate opponents by encouraging the filing of false police reports, the use of anonymous threats through the US Mail, denying access to public records and more. They are now attempting to shut down the only public forum that is available to those seeking the truth about the Hospital deal.
The Lakewood Observer is an outlet they cannot control. Why do they need to control it? Why do they need to destroy it? If the truth is so wonderful why won't they tell it?
Why the lies?
Why the threats?
Why the denial of public records requests?
Intimidation and threats are a common tactic used by corrupt governments everywhere. Mayor Summers has brought that tactic to Lakewood. He should be ashamed of himself.
Of course he is not. What started out as the Mayors efforts to secure reelection and secure the assets of the Hospital Foundation for his cronies is now an effort to stay out of jail. This will get worse because City officials are in panic mode. They realize that if they do not hang together they will hang separately.

Who is trying to shutdown the Observer? And how specifically?
If you are referring to the Uldrick lawsuit, I'm sure Coca-Cola has been sued before but they are still going strong. Or, back to my Rat Rice reference, he is still eligible to play in the NFL.
