Mr. JO'B, certainly humor is useful to help make the point, but apparently I'm less intolerant given the gravity of bad actions by bad actors, sycophants, and trolls. No passes to bad actors. Carry on, sir!

Humor? Useful? Necessary to stop from going mad.

A town that praised, amplified and rewarded civic intelligence turned into a town where people whisper in the shadows, afraid to speak their minds.

Question City Hall, and the dogs are released. Answers, rarely given. Well certainly not honest ones.

The Deck and the Observer has been able to document this decline in what many of us call a healthy community and democracy. The Deck has no magic power, all it does is reflect to those reading, what people are capable of thinking and doing.

At the same time we live in a city where the Mayor and past Council President, and some current council members have lied about the single biggest event in Lakewood's past 50 years. We are not talking about, "I might have borrowed some tires" But got things very wrong, costing the city our largest employer, and possible over $100 million in dollars, then out and out lied to cover their asses for a month. "The Hospital is Not Closing" Mayor Summers 1/14/2015, and for this and screwing the entire deal up was he was easily re-elected.

Humor?...

In the end, we get the government we elect.

Fade in Lakewood's theme song.

Mr JO'B, I'm with you, albeit no passes. And let's drive some real accountability. Keep on keeping on, sir.

You got to be quick to keep your eyes on the money.

I believe this is one reason it was made clear early on, "Nothing to do with Hospital" so that they could re-purpose their foundation's mission statement, and deal with restricted funds, and "health for the community funds."

This was made clear to me by Kristin Broadbent, and Ken Haber from my first meeting with them on this subject.

All the talk of "changes in health care", "money losing hospital" and "potential development" was just a subterfuge. The Hospital is closing because a small group of well connected people thought they could turn a public institution into a private slush fund. They have nearly succeeded. What a waste.

I think Brian Essi is no the verge of discovering a smoking gun. Will the voters even care? Will the Ohio Attorney General care?

In my opinion, the alleged corruption goes far beyond the hospital. I believe you will find more than city government involved in the alleged corruption, I believe county officials will be involved as well and possibly beyond.
