Thank you....For Slowing Down

Post by Lori Allen _ »

I noticed the below sign recently on Forest Cliff. It reads"Thank you...for slowing down". This is likely not a sign paid for by the residents, as it has a city inventory sticker on the back. Does anyone know what the proper channels would be to go through if I wanted a sign like this on my street? I have not seen these on any other street in Lakewood. Thanks.

Is there anyone who wouldn't want one of these signs on their street? I say we all ask for one!

Perhaps someone from city hall or one of our council members could post and tell us who to contact at city hall so that we can have these signs placed on our streets also.

I just put a call in to the Streets Dept. asking about what the procedure would be to get one of these signs on my street.

The lady on the answering machine is never, ever there when myself or anyone I know calls. However, this is not all that uncommon. I called several departments last Friday about an issue I was having and got voice mail on almost every single one of them.

Streets: no answer:
Public Works: no answer
Mayor's office: no answer
Police Chief's office: no answer

Does the lady in Streets even still work there? If not, I feel that her name should be removed from the answering machine. Also, is she still on the payroll if she is no longer working there?

Just wondering.

Still waiting.

Can anyone confirm if the assistant in the streets dept. still works there?

What is my next course of action if I want one of these signs?

As a side note, is speeding really a big issue on Forest Cliff to warrant a sign like this? Couldn't this have been put on another street?
