It is so adorable. Hard to believe it will grow into an eagle! Is the nest hard to spot with the naked eye? As you can tell, I am one of those people that, when given a camera, usually chops people's heads off! Photography is best left to the experts!

Lori,

The Emerald Canyon Eagle is by the "Eagle Nest" restaurant in Metro Parks. From there they work Rocky River and even the lakefront, about 5 mile range. In the after noons they can often be seen sitting in the trees by the new fishing bank being installed by the State of Ohio. For these shots you need a 1,000mm lens. Even good binoculars only get you half way there. About 300 yards.

This is why I suggest people that want an amazing experience to visit the Avon Lake Nest, where you can sit about 50' away, and watch them come and go. Those babies are already trying to fly, so possibly only another couple weeks before they are gone.

Up at Magee Marsh, where there are 8 bald eagles, about 1.5 hours from Lakewood, you can see the babies are as large as the parents. Magee Marsh you can get about 50' away.

Take the kids, its amazing having bald eagle flying 50' above your head, wild, carrying squirrels, baby ducks, fish.

Baby hopping, they hop everyday, more and more until they fly. There are feathers that have yet to be lost that stop them from flying at this point.

You can see they are as large as the parents at this point.

By July 4th, you will have to wait another year.
