Empty teaser headlines like this and the "Big News from City Hall" thread don't do anything to inform folks.

Substitute Hospital for Library, pretty chilling read.

Yes, I read it. It's a NY story, not a Lakewood story.

And if I substitute the word "million" for the word "thousand", I am a multi-millionaire.

You're wrong as usual.

Headlines can be informative, thought provoking, emotional and entertaining. Many people get all the information they care to get from the headline or the first few lines of an article. A headline can be a work of art. Some headlines encourage people to read even further and think even more.

One of my favorites appeared in the New York Post:

"Headless Body Found In Topless Bar"

If you bothered to read the news article you would notice many similarities between the bid rigging being investigated in New York by the FBI and the bid rigging no one cares about in Lakewood.

Here in Lakewood $100 million in City assets have been given away in a shameful scheme designed to produce only one winning bidder: The Cleveland Clinic.

That's sounds like a crime in need of an investigation.

The dog is not barking. Why? Ahhh!! another great headline!

I used to work for the NYPost. Great headlines, lousy news coverage, great photo editor. ;-)

Sounds like the basis for an interesting book.

I believe that there are many people here in Lakewood that are so focused on the bogus hospital deal that they have not noticed that we are dealing with more than just one issue in this city.
