So yes, I think we should continue building the schools, leave the parks open...which seems to be the terrible "pitch" that you mention.

Some of the litigants are getting information requested 9 months ago. I would say City Hall is dragging this out.

The schools are now built. Summers is the guy locking up the parks, so I'm not sure why you throw that at me. (Ironically, Summers also turned off a couple traffic lights, but that's another issue).
As for resolving the hospital situation "only to my satisfaction", there are thousands of citizens looking for answers...and City Hall is refusing to provide them.

The "Let's move on" routine is just a lame attempt to absolve decision makers from blame. For example, Cheney and Co. love to use that line regarding Iraq.

Two major thoughts in Lakewood, One favors Commercial Economic Development, for many reasons. The other favors residents, for many reasons.
Neither is entirely right, or entirely wrong. HOWEVER
One groups like to come up with very mediocre ideas, and spring them on us. The other side is left to asking why and reacting.
What I do not understand is why the group that plots and surprises, doesn't try to educate the residents instead of shouting them down, threatening them.

Much of this leads back to the West End Debacle (Jay Foran's term not mine). It was replacing 1,500 people with a strip mall. It lost by 47 votes.
Now Corey, I do not know about you, but if I really believed in something and lost by 47 votes out of 15,000, I would try again.
But I wouldn't lie, cheat, siphon off money, set up a bunch of faux BS and give myself rewards for years while running the city into the ground.

I would try to educate not trick the community into supporting the project.
But hey that is just me.

It seems to me, that a Mayor that demanded a accountant come up with a plan to save the hospital or invest the money, he should be able to do it after 13 years.

Ha! I never thought of that.

I have been very skeptical of a lot of things in Lakewood over many years. Some have come true and others have panned out.

I thought it was interesting when they knocked down the old fire station, KFC, Burrows, a movie store, a couple of banks and several other storefronts for high end shopping in central Lakewood. I was optimistic. The intent was good but years later... the parking lot is always full, at least.

I thought they were out of their minds when they started re configuring schools, construction plans, renovation ideas and intentions. The results have been fantastic.

It is hard for some to look past the current state of affairs but it must be done to move forward. Optimism can be difficult, but possible.

So other than just "moving forward" for the sake of forgetting the past, what is your vision on your "heart-healthy" idea? Can you offer anything specific to build upon?

Absolutely, but I will save that for an outlet that is not social media based.
