INTIMIDATION: CCF Police, Mayor, Council Pres., City Officials, BLers, BOE Member, Attorneys, CCF Dr. vs one Deck Post
Other than for purposes of intimidation, why would the Cleveland Clinic Protective Services, Mayor Summers, Council President Madigan, Finance Director Pae, School Board Member and attorney Linda Beebe, CCF Employees Mary Osborn and Dr. Jack Palomaki, Build Lakewood attorney and North Coast Health Ministry secretary Jay Carson, business "leader" David Stein, spouse of LHF president Kathleen Haber and other Blers fabricate a bogus police report and/or join in PR campaign to smear one Deck poster using just one Deck post as the pretext?
FYI the CCF police department is a the largest police department in the state based upon numbers of police officers--Kind of Intimidating? Eh?
Why the need for such concerted power in an effort to intimidate one citizen for writing words in the exercise of rights guaranteed by the First Amendment?
Thanks to the integrity of the Lakewood Police Department, they saw right through this abuse of government power.
This is just one example of the current government's intimidation of citizens and local business people.
Can anyone add to this post or start other threads and provide details of how our local government officials have intimidates and/or punished citizens for expression of their First Amendment Rights?
Or is the intimidation such that people are afraid to express it on the Deck?

Where is your data coming from to support the above claim? According to the latest statistics:
Cleveland Clinic Police : 122 Officers (http://www.policeone.com/police-departm ... veland-oh/)
Cleveland Police : 1892 Officers (http://www.policeone.com/police-departm ... veland-oh/)
Akron Police : 498 Officers (http://www.policeone.com/police-departm ... -akron-oh/)
Youngstown Police : 205 Officers (http://www.policeone.com/police-departm ... gstown-oh/)
And that's just NEO. Cincy, Columbus, Dayton, Toledo all have larger police officer forces than the CCF. This in no way does not mean they are absolved of anything, just not sure you have your fact correct in the above statement.

Welcome back. I guess that you are suggesting they are the 4th largest police department in the state based on your research?
Do you agree that they are real government police, not private police?
If they are 1st or 4th, does that really change the point of the thread?
Why were they investigating the Deck?

First, didn't go anywhere. Just saw no reason to respond to most of your posts but definitely responded to other posts (including one just yesterday).
Second, no, if you actually read my post I would say that they aren't even third in NEO let alone the state. Again, please provide a link to show they are the largest in the state. If there is none, then I have to assume it is hyperbole based on the fact that there are at least three more in NEO that I found in 5 minutes of research. If you want, I'd be glad to keep going and produce more.
If you say they are the largest, and want us to be scared, at least back it up with facts. Thanks,
Matthew

Perhaps Cleveland Clinic has the largest private police department in Ohio. That would not surprise me. What did surprise me was Lakewood granting them arrest and investigative powers just days after the initial announcement of plans to close the hospital.

from the PD article...Meg Ostrowski wrote:Perhaps Cleveland Clinic has the largest private police department in Ohio. That would not surprise me. * The clinic uses a combination of private security guards, Cleveland Clinic police officers and off-duty Lakewood police officers to safeguard Lakewood Hospital and adjoining medical office buildings. Off-duty Lakewood police officers will continue playing a role in protecting Lakewood Hospital, but they can't do the job alone, Snow said.
* Hospitals can be attractive targets for criminals, he said. They are filled with vulnerable people, drugs, and valuable equipment.
* The Cleveland Clinic Police Department has 126 sworn officers, and it is one of only two hospitals nationally with a police force certified by the Commission for Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agents, Snow said.
LOL...
1. "they can't do the job alone." When did it suddenly become a problem to guard an empty hospital? Perhaps the city anticipates the loss of tax revenue?
2. attractive targets...edit...<formerly> filled with valuable equipment.
3. one of only two hospitals nationally with a private police force. that's very interesting just on it's face.
Vague on this history, but weren't private police forces used in the infamous union battles against the USW and the UAW? We return to good times courtesy of Defendant Summers, et al.

Based on what I've learned from "Fear the Walking Dead" and post-apocalyptic movies, an empty hospital would be an attractive target if it still had drugs in it. I must assume that CCF has removed all medications from the vacated areas.

The law enforcement source told me that CCF Protective Services is a public police force, not private and that they were the largest in the state. Perhaps the source was in error or the distinction between "employees" is the problem vs. hired off duty policemen doing the police work for CCF. Much like we the 900-1500 hospital employee figure that CCF never gave us clarity on independent contractors vs. employees. That CCF is not transparent on these things is a proven fact.Meg Ostrowski wrote:Perhaps Cleveland Clinic has the largest private police department in Ohio. That would not surprise me. The statistics on number of police officers is not the point--the abuse government power is the point.
The point of the thread was about intimidation by a powerful group of folks and lawyers against a lone post and citizen.
Is this widespread? Is there a chilling effect from the concerted activity?

Mr. Essi, I certainly got the point of your post.
Any size police force sending even one officer to my front door, in an attempt to intimidate and step all over my first amendment rights, is a serious abuse of power. Period.
The conduct of those involved in orchestrating that action, Linda Beebe, David Stein and the rest of that cabal, was not just threatening , it's was at it's core an assault on our rights and by extension an assault on democracy.

I believe this would be the one where Brian quotes biblical scriptures, and says if anyone dies in transit to a hospital farther away, LHA will have their blood on their hands. Which was changed to Brian Essi, threatening members of LHA and Council. Complete fabrication that saw many key players line up at police station, going on about being threatened. about something they knew not only didn't happen, no threat, but was orchestrated as an attack on Brian Essi's first amendment rights.
Orchestrated, attack on a citizen. I have spoken to most of those that filed, NONE BELIEVED THEY WERE THREATENED, NONE FEARED Brian Essi.
Hence, False police report.
Funny thing a lot of this came off of BuildLakewood trying defend the action of a key member who was intimidating residents that didn't agree. Mostly women over 60. Of course the police found out that was true, and asked the prosecutor to prosecute.
So if you are keeping track, LHA/BL members file "false" police reports for being threatened after they have a key member really doing it to others is reported to police.

According to the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation, cyberterrorism is any "premeditated, politically motivated attack against information, computer systems, computer programs, and data against non-combatant targets by sub-national groups or clandestine agents."
Strange, as the county celebrates the RNC and World in town, I think the local news will be looking at RICO, Money Laundering, State Sponsored Domestic Cyber-Terrorism
