Car Hits Pole, Kills Power And Closes Detroit Ave.

Around 10pm a woman traveling westbound on Detroit Avenue lost control of her car hitting the telephone pole just east of Lakewood Fire Department Station 2.

Image
While the woman was removed from the car and taken to a nearby hospital, the rest of the police and fire had to stand half a block away because of arching wires.

Image
The car sustained heavy damaged and the airbags were deployed so that would indicate speed of 30mph or greater.

Patrons at the Keniworth Tavern come out to see what the excitement was.

Detroit was closed down for about an hour and power was coming back on as I posted.

Nothing to see, move along.

Good work Lakewood Police and Fire!

Thoughts and prayers for the Polish guy, too.

Would you be mine? Could you be mine?
Won't you be my neighbor?"
