Topic of post..."Summers Deposition Exposes His Incompetence In Business and His Untrustworthiness as a Fiduciary"

I promise to read the political and gender bashing posts on a different thread. Albeit at a lower urgency.

Brian,

You have mistakenly credited me for your sentiment. Please revisit my article PEOPLE, MONEY & THINGS IN ORDER OF PRIORITY to recall the nuance. You can find it at http://lakewoodobserver.com/read/2015/1 ... f-priority

I don’t think that those that do not share my opinion on the closing of Lakewood Hospital are uncaring. However some have made statements and taken actions that suggest they care more about money and things than people, and care about some people more than others. Then there are those that simply feel powerless; go along; keep quiet; hope it all turns out OK.

As for consequences, it is only a matter of time before the impact will open eyes to the truth of what’s been done here. Disease does not generally discriminate. In a real emergency, a hospital can be essential and as Dr. Kilroy reminds us, “time is tissue,” so close counts. A Family Health Center is NOT a hospital. Furthermore, Lakewood may never recover from such significant job loss and the loss of economic activity those jobs generated.

As for Summers’ trustworthiness as a fiduciary in this matter, I have been skeptical since January 2015, the day he announced intentions to close the hospital claiming it was “good news for the community.” Since then, no one has offered adequate reassurance or a worthy plan. His deposition hasn’t helped. I remain concerned.

I have said before, I am not always a fan of the dramatic way in which you present information but I remain grateful for your efforts. They have shed much light.

Meg,

My apologies for extending the points of your fine article to that which you did not intend. Still, I credit you with defining the distinct 3 priorities--money-people and property---my belief based upon the overwhelming and cumulative evidence is that the keys leaders of the hospital debacle don't really care about people at all---their conduct in context proves this.

Indeed, as you may recall, by way of just one example, an LHA trustee at the Winton Place forum expressly stated his goal and that of LHA was to "preserve assets" rather than provide hospital services as was his and the LHA mandate by fiduciary law. They highjacked their mission because of warped priorities. They value their status and control of money over helping people. It is my view that this cannot be denied since their weak rationales for bailing on their mission are a proven fraud.

I believe the intentions of Judge O'Donnell is to stall and not to rule. The man should have recused himself from the case, as he is a Lakewood resident and lives practically back yard to back yard with the Mayor. Why won't any judge grant a Stay Order so that the deal can not move forward until after Judge O'Donnell reads the evidence? Obviously Judge Friedman refused a Stay order immediately. If O'Donnell has not had time to read through evidence, I'm sure he probably did not read any of it. I have said from the beginning that I believe that Budish and some of his cronies are more than likely involved. I have posted much evidence in the past year here on the Deck. I feel that the possibility of Budish controlling the courts is not out of the question.

I encourage you all to write or telephone the Ohio Supreme Court here about O'Donnell's apparent conflict of interest:

Board of Professional Conduct
Supreme Court of Ohio
65 South Front Street, 5th Floor
Columbus, Ohio 43215-3431

The next court date has been postponed until May, I believe.
