Concerning Hospital: Did Sherrod Brown Let Us Down?

Below I have listed the campaign contributions given to Sherrod Brown from both city and Cleveland Clinic people. Quite a hefty amount! I recall Sherrod Brown coming to Lakewood several times during Summers run for mayor. Is there any possibility that Brown pulled the plug on the Federal Trades Commission investigation? I believe he could have had monetary motivation! Download file below:

Wow! I know 2 democrats that will not get my vote, the Ratners are big on CCF board. We used to have a Ratners Drug Store in Lakewood, I think it was on Detroit. Do you really think Brown would favor CCF and Summers for some small donations?

This has nothing to do with donations....Brown doesn't care what happens to the hospital because it's below his pay grade.
His staffers fielded calls from citizens, then called City Hall and were fed a line of bull by Summers, Bullock, and Company.
That's as far as this goes.
This is why Republican Summers masquerades as a Democrat....not only to get elected, but to have better relations with county, state, and federal officeholders. As long as he claims to be a "D", Marcy and Sherrod will not question him.

I don't know. Spreading that list of his CCF donors ($150K is not so minor) around social media might get his attention.
With the Euclid hospital issue gaining traction, it's not just a matter of one small hospital in Lakewood anymore and someone like Schultz should be challenged to cover it.

Concerning Summers political affiliation, I have yet to see any evidence that he is Republican with the exception of the fact that he voted Republican in a primary election in 2002. According to his voting record on file with the Board of Elections, he has voted nothing but Democratic over the past fourteen years.

All of Summers campaign contributions appear to be to Democrats. Connie Pillich, Sherrod Brown, Marcy Kaptur, Ed Jerse, Ed Fitzgerlad, Nickie Antonio. All are Democrats.

It would be foolish of me to believe that all of Summers Democratic friends are just posing. Our entire city council is Democratic. Our entire school board is Democratic. Download the Lakewood voter registration file here and lookup the majority of Summers friends. With the exception of Haber, Foran, and maybe a handful of others, they are all registered Democrats.

What would the motivation be to register as a member of the opposite party? Just to cover up for Summers? That seems rather far-fetched.

If there is any hard evidence that Summers is still a Republican, as of today (not in 2002), I would be very interested in seeing it. In the absence of any hard evidence to the contrary, it currently appears to point to Summers leaning Democratic.

Money has a lot of power in politics, and power plays a big part in politics. Look at what happens to those that speak out against the Clinton bunch. It appears that they mysteriously disappear or die unexpectedly from natural causes.

He has a lifetime of voting GOP, and only switched to run for council.
Republicans like Markling and Colleen Wing are well aware of his shenanigans.
Harbarger even campaigned for him in the last election.

Yes, because Mikey has to make it look good. Donations help to get your phone call returned, although they don't always guarantee you policy changes.

Not to mention Pam Smith and Jay Carson.
This group -- all Republicans -- are the ones who hold the real power in town. The council is comprised largely of chairwarmers.

Whoa cowboy! Are you alright? I certainly did not deserve this type of treatment from you. I have presented you with my facts on this post. I will await while you post yours to prove all of my facts wrong. It appears that on almost every thread here on the Deck, you have to somehow relate it to nationwide politics. This post was not intended to have any partisan bias. If I notice that any Republicans have accepted large amounts of money in donations from CCF people, I will gladly post it here. I feel that accusing me of "partisanship" is rather over-the-top and is a great example of "the pot calling the kettle black".

I prefer to judge politicians and people in general on how they act, the choices they make, their loyalty, etc. as opposed to judging them on political affiliation. Using what appears to br your logic, the person that helps that old lady across the street must be a Democrat and that guy that gets arrested for falling asleep drunk in an apartment building lobby on Clifton must be a Republican.

As I previously stated, I am more than willing to look at tangible evidence that Summers is a Republican and that the mayor's few Republican friends are the ones holding all of the power. In the absence of this evidence, Mike Summers must be a Democrat.

I would say the exchange here was cordial and brief. Sherrod stopped in for a photo op with Lakewood Fire Department. I spoke with Sherrod Brown before Mayor Summers arrived for these photos. He was aware of the hospital and was assured by Mayor Summers everything possible was being done.

HERE ARE THE FACTS - THE PERFECT STORM!

No sitting democrat is going to step on another democrat in an election year. It is not going to happen. While Congressman Kucinich was in town, many things would come up and I would ask him, and he would say almost every time, have the highest ranking democrat give him a call. With political parties fighting from the top to the bottom, they are not willing to go after their own and drag them down, no matter what. Sad but true.

But this is where it gets interesting with Mayor Summers' life long history of being a Republican, and the flying monkeys around him like Jay Foran and Rob Frost, being neo-cons, when the complaint is moved from Brown, to the Republican run State House, it also falls on deaf ears, as the Republican Neo-cons who have been "advising" Mayor Summers on all of this since the WestEnd assured them, nothing to see here, it's all much to do about nothing.

And in a flash, 20 people liquidate our largest most valuable resource into private hands of their friends.

As I said when I first announced this. Chris Christie went into a federal investigation because he moved 40 orange cones on a bridge. What would the Feds do if he had sold the bridge and channeled the money to his best friends new PRIVATE foundation. Now when we see how long they have been planning this fleecing of the City of Lakewood, how does it not rise to RICO and Money Laundering?

This residents of this city were set up and played like a bunch of rubes at a carnival. "We'll give you sharrows and traffic calming while we take $175 million dollars from you."

Unfortunately this is how politics works, or really doesn't.
