My, isn't this interesting.

A couple months back Stein was offended when I referred to him as a leading member of "Team Summers".

Stein will probably open up another high end expensive store that the majority of folks living in Lakewood can't afford to shop at.
I think we're going to get a mini "Cracker Park" pun intended.
Before long, the entire blocks of both Belle and Marlowe that surround the hospital will be taken over by eminent domain and their dream will materialize. If I lived on either of those streets, I'd be pissed at the lying and secrecy surrounding this entire debacle.

I think this debacle is less about "changing" health care and more about how a small cabal are trying to loot the City of its assets. And it is a debacle.

Bill

And they are just getting started.

Is Nature's Bin failing because of Whole Foods, or because the city likes the foundation money and the property.

I would say nothing is safe in this city.

The strip mall developers have gone nuts.

Promise big, deliver jobs for their friends.

Wait, "site plans" would that include landscaping?!

My original post was:

http://lakewoodobserver.com/forum/viewt ... in#p161535

It was on March 4, 2015 that someone close to him said David Stein had the contract and had completed landscaping design plans for the planned developments at the current Lakewood Hospital.

Public records related to David Stein were requested on September 25, 2015. I did not receive the email that is the subject of this post until March 7, 2016.

From the PDF attachment - Bullock email to Summers and Siley on Feb 27, 2015...
Better yet, they (Clinic) should occupy a setback portion, reserving the Detroit frontage for new economic development that would have the best chance of replacing some of the lost economic activity from the hospital.
"...the best chance..."

This shows (1) such great intent to destroy LH, and (2) feebly recognizes the issue of lost economic activity caused by ejecting LH from that property. Notwithstanding the health and fabric of the community, it cannot be debated that LH is the best and highest economic use of that property. And yet here is the political/corporatist cabal acting like it's no big thing.

This was in February 2015. Had a vote yet been taken?

Of course , Summers and Siley will make sure there are PLENTY more bars. Bars are their biggest economic development successes. I'm sure they will keep them coming as it appears to be their group's favorite pastime!

There's nothing wrong with gay bars, but a bar is no substitute for a hospital.
And bars won't make us "the healthiest city in America".

I agree, bars will not replace the hospital. However, the hospital is gone and it appears we are stuck with an urgi-care. I sure hope nobody gets alcohol poisoning!
