Build Lakewood Gives Up On "Healing" Ploy After Less Than A Day

You and I rarely agree, but we always laugh when we speak.

Mr. Kenny loses sight of the simplest fact: my words convey facts that are a threat to him and his cause--I am not the threat.

He insults all who read and post here by suggesting they are "insular", i.e. they are all ignorant people--- he claims that Deck readers are somehow "sheep" that I lead the slaughter. This tracks the thinking his colleagues Jay Carson and Rebecca Patton who "don't like the way people vote" if it is not in keeping with their "superior" thinking. They falsely believe that my words are designed to mislead and win over the "insular sheep"---they see in me exactly what they (Build Lakewood and City Hall) do---spread lies.

While the debate should be over the facts and the "truth" that the facts point to, they instead seek to shift the focus from facts to dividing people from the facts--claiming that I am the mortal enemy of you and the "Project" and all the readers. As you pointed out, there is nothing to divide--its all in his mind.

As more facts come to light, there are many folks who were previously adverse to my facts, tactics and style, but who now privately apologize to me and understand where I am coming from.

I tell them the truth--I am not trying to win anyone over--my singular goal is to uncover facts and get to the "truth."

So ironically, Mr. Kenny's ire and focus on me gives me perceived and illusory power when I have none.

I am not his enemy. The facts and truth are his enemies--they are the weapon that will win the "war" by destroying and exposing the lies upon which his movement rests.

I am responding to Lori Allen because she is a person of value and I understand that she and her son, Matt, are firmly on the side of maintaining comprehensive healthcare in Lakewood and they are searching for the truth behind the myriad of circumstances surrounding the Decanting Plan for our largest employer, Lakewood Hospital. Lori is impatient and I understand that sentiment. This is a tough fight, a David versus Goliath combat that is not easy to win. The CCF is a mighty power in Northeast Ohio and some of our elected officials have chosen to play ball with the Clinic instead of standing up for the right of Lakewood's citizenry.

There you have it folks, the mean spirited members of SLH who have to bully and insult anyone here on the Deck who doesn't agree with them. Mr. Essi claims he is not a member of SLH. However, he speaks on their behalf, is featured on their Facebook page, and I believe is one of the groups attorneys. I do not agree with Build Lakewood's vision for our city, but I will not deny them the right to feel the way they do. I never hear Jay Carson, Pam Smith or other BL members here on the Deck denouncing me for my research, facts or thoughts.

Hi Lori Mr Essi is not a member of SLH. Mr. Carson, Ms. Smith & BL members denounce the ideas of anyone who wants to save Lakewood Hospital at City Council or anywhere they speak that the subject comes up. They don't need to post on the Deck. The BL supporters that do post are obvious. I have not found SLH members to be mean spirited. A heated discussion is acceptable on the Deck. Please don't get angry because someone disagrees with you- just post back (as you do!)

I was told about the group's behavior many times when I was out all summer going door to door. I was told that when they were shot down and embarrassed in front of the group at SLH meetings by leadership for their suggestions, they never came back. During the last drive to get signatures for the referendum, I quit before it was over. Pam Wetula of SLH is a wonderful kind hearted woman who has done all the work and I thank her and Bonnie. She is the one that was apologizing to me for the treatment I received from the leadership. How sad when leadership cannot admit they were wrong or apologize. It was then when Pam called me three times and asked me to quit posting because I was "killing" SLH. She then informed me that they did not have enough people. I am happy that it appears they have a few more recruits, for now.

I appreciate you saying that I am kind because I genuinely like you Lori. I told you that many of my ideas have been shot down and many ideas in general are shot down for any number of reasons. I wasn't apologizing for the leadership- just explaining that not every idea can be implemented right away or at all. I have never run into anyone who said they were embarrassed at a SLH meeting. I called you because your posts had errors, including your demand/question of why SLH's legal team did not ask for a Stay. They did request that from the courts Lori. it was well publicized but maybe you did not hear or read of it. The courts denied the motion. We have our team Lori but I told you that people have jobs, children, sick family members that require our volunteers attention beyond their work for SLH. We have more people than ever and they come out when we need them. I am sorry that you no longer want to be a part of SLH. Your posts cannot kill SLH, you do not have that power. I called you because I thought you were a friend and I wanted to see why you were so over the top upset.


I am still fighting to save the hospital, however this ordeal appears to be much broader than just the hospital. It appears that we may have county and other organizations involved. This information would have or could have been a great asset for the SLH attorneys. Apparently some of them have friends or relatives at the county, so they think they are being treated "fairly". Really? Look at Judge O'Donnell's record. He does not appear to be the straightest arrow in the pack. He has granted no stay and claims he has not had time to read over the material. This BS excuse would not even fly on an episode of Law and Order! In the meantime, the city administration and CCF are happy as clams as they freely decant what is left of Lakewood Hospital. Fairview is already enjoying some of our art work.

It is good that you are still fighting to save Lakewood Hospital. My personal wish is that you would work with SLH. I think you are underestimating SLH attorneys and members with regards to the work they have done in this fight. If the county and others are involved in an unlawful manner, that will come out.


In days past, the Deck was a place for those with all different thoughts and opinions to come and share regarding a variety of topics. It has now been taken over by SLH, who apparently cannot admit that there are also other people in the city that have knowledge and facts about issues.

The Deck is still a place of many thoughts and opinions and has definitely not been taken over by SLH. I have told you that people read your research and I do not understand why you are upset on this issue.

I got over the fact that SLH does not read my posts or take them into consideration a long time ago. However, I post them for the community, not SLH.

Again, you are incorrect. People read your posts and may or may not come to the same conclusions as you do. You SHOULD be posting them for everyone!

FInally, I do not exactly appreciate comments relating the hospital ordeal to religion during this holy season.

I don't know exactly what you are alluding to but it would be in keeping with the Deck's mission for some to have their opinions and for you to have yours.
