Can we keep a watch list going of new businesses opening in Lakewood.
2 new shops I've seen this week are Roman Ricci Hair Gallery at 14701 Detroit and the Italian Restaurant across from the Detroit Theater. Any others?

Roman Ricci - is a hair saloon that opened about ten years ago at the corner of Rockway and Detroit. It is the only blacked owned hair salon in Lakewood and one of the few black owned businesses. They are very successful, and great people. One of the original stylist used to live two houses away, so I became pretty familiar with the operation. It is always nice when good neighbors, not just move to a city, but open businesses and take and active part.
They moved to the INA Building about four years ago, and have been serving downtown Lakewood. I believe that might still be open, next to Curves. This would latest opening would seem them move back in the Emerald Canyon Historic District.
As for a list of businesses, I think it is a great idea.
Even better would be letting them know that The Lakewood Observer has one of the most complete lists of businesses in a totally editable directory on our front page FOR FREE. The Lakewood shopping Experience allows businesses to enter all the information they need and more and provides multiple search words and listings. From simple listing and phone number right up to a full page with photos(slightly more $$$) to a full e_commerce website that ties into other Lakewood businesses and Google.

5-Start Pizza just opened across from the Detroit (the Italian place is right across from Rite Aid) in the old taco joint. I had a slice yesterday when visiting friends at Erie Design and it was pretty good pizza. I have a long devotion to Angelos and it will take a strong contender to knock that pizza off the throne for me but this was nice pizza. I wish them well in a very tight pizza market!
