Hey Lakewood, The Money For Hillard Theater?

Ex Cleaveland Councilman Jay Westbrook, and Jim Rokakis, Vice President, Western Reserve Land Conservancy; Director, Thriving Communities Institute talk at the Root Cafe.

Jim was all excited that with the help of Ohio's US Senator Rob Portman they were able to get an additional $350 million dollars to tear down abandoned property and turn it into "Green Space" for the short turn. If other "responsible" uses can be found for the land, it can be earmarked for that.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, sounds a lot like the Hillard Theater to me.

It costs more than $350,000,000 to take that building down? How much to rehab it?

Oh, wait. My mistake. The state has received that money for properties all over, not for the Hilliard Theater. To think reading comprehension is my strong suit!

It is OK, my writing is often incomprehensible.

Yes they found money left in TARP and applied and got it.

Now the sad part is the area is in such a run-down state, that we could justify needing $350,000,000 to tear down empty homes!
