Superintendent Seeks Input on Future of Franklin, Taft Properties
Tomorrow, Feb. 17, at 6 pm in the Garfield Middle School Cafetorium, Superintendent Jeff Patterson will begin the discussion of what to do with the former Taft and Franklin Elementary School properties. These two properties will no longer be needed by the Board of Education once construction is complete on our last three elementary schools. Superintendent Patterson would like to gather community input on the future of these two sites. Please join him tomorrow night and share your thoughts on the topic.

Perhaps we could move the school board into the Franklin Building, move LCA to the mods, sell Taft and School Board Building.
Perhaps Jay Foran's Active Living Task Force could come up with use for the space, and build McKinley Condos 2 at Taft.
Just a thought.

Donate the Franklin Building to the rescue. Do you know how awesome that would be for the dogs? (ok...just a small dream)

The District is conducting a survey to gather input on this topic. Please take a few minutes to take the survey: http://svy.mk/1jYiZJ3

Why bother, I'm sure they already have their plans for the parcels and just want to have the appearance of wanting "community input". After all, this is business as usual in Lakewood OH.
Our superintendent is part of the conspiracy which is Lakewood Politics.

I think our School System does an amazing job and is being led by a great Superintendent. The kids (and their parents) are benefiting everyday by the work being done in the School System.
I think the educational buildings are, and have been, handled very well with all the renovations in the past 10+ years. That being said, I am a huge advocate for heart-healthy children...so I think the land should be used for indoor recreational fields and training centers that can be kept in-house if run by the Recreation Department (this would keep it under the supervision of the School District). Other communities are cashing in on indoor sports fields and training centers, it's time for Lakewood to focus (even more) on the health and fitness of it's students.

While I agree with the first part of the post, I do not agree with the second part.

What shop?Amy Martin wrote:Corey, I think the fumes at the shop are getting to your brain
Why the doubt? It is possible. The sites are relatively small for my intended purpose but could be put to good use.
Have you ever been to an indoor facility (T3 for example)? They make great use of a spot much smaller than the land mentioned.

I do like Kool Aid but haven't had it in years. I miss it. Red was my favorite with orange a close second. Green tasted funny.Amy Martin wrote:they shop where they make the kool aid that you're drinking
