You don't know me at all m buckley, so please don't try to assume what my attempt is with my query. I am honestly just tired of reading hospital threads. I am not SLH or BL, believe it or not, but want to get back to talking about Lakewood in general without hospital threads. If that annoys people, my apologies and I will just quite the Observer board.m buckley wrote:What started out as the drip, drip, drip of Team Summers' attempting to erode support for those who opposed the Hospital deal has now turned steadily, into a full fledged assault on our right to express political thought in an open forum.
Mr. Kenny, and his mission to identify and eradicate "cancerous" thought on The Deck has now been supplanted by Mr. Wadden, Mr. Lee and Co., who instead , want to sequester our thoughts regarding the Hospital and the conduct of Summers, Madigan, Bullock and the rest of LHA .
What we are witnessing in Mr.Wadden and Mr Lee is an attempt to pull off a sort of " benevolent intolerance" as they look to silence the rest of us under the spurious claim of improving The Deck.

Sorry, I am technically challenged today and could not figure out how to edit my previous thread. I meant to say I could "quit" the Observer Deck, not "quite" the Observer Deck.
Probably not a big loss for many if I were to stop posting, but I think it is important for people to know that not everyone cares about the hospital issue and, in just my humble opinion, we have lost the discussion of Lakewood in general.

It's like the old saw about Cleveland weather: wait a little while and it will change. Although maybe longer than any of us would like.
I don't love talking about it anymore, but it is hugely important.

Matthew
Maybe there are some people who "don't care" about the hospital, but they SHOULD. It is the single most important issue in the city - it will have an impact on each and every one of us for many years to come
But, I understand your point and if that topic doesn't interest you, it really isn't that hard to scroll through posts and click on what DOES interest you. Or start your own topic. There are many threads I don't bother to read and I don't find it particularly difficult to scroll and skim until I find what I want. Virtually every board I read requires that I browse through topics.

" How does creating a separate, stand alone, highly visible forum that specifically holds the content of the debate regarding the hospital not hold government accountable any less? It doesn't.".
It should have it's own forum. New visitors to the deck could then easily read about the issue without having to sift through threads that date back to early 2015. How does making it a seperate forum deter or diminish people from getting involved? It makes it easier to read about. They could then easily access Mr. Essi's post that calls ALL supporters of BL Nazi's'. Love that post. So let's make it a seperate forum.

Thank You for the compliment.Patrick Wadden wrote:I see a pen, Mr. Essi sees a harpoon.....
The "harpoon" as you perceive it will likely pierce what you seek to contain.

I still believe that the hospital issue should be separate. It appears now that what we have is the Lakewood Hospital Observer. Mr. Essi appears to like to bully anyone that comes on the Deck with an opinion that doesn't agree with his. Save Lakewood Hospital claims that Mr. Essi is not a member of their group. If this is so, why are they allowing him to be their spokesperson?

Again I say wait until the referendum is resolved. Lately (until today, that is), there have been more posts on other subjects.

Matthew,
I totally agree with you. I can't keep track anymore of all the good people that used to post here on the Deck before Save Lakewood Hospital took over and made it their private chat room. Try posting on here about anything else happening in the city and the SLH bunch will not only ignore it, but, post one liners or one word posts to their previous threads to knock the other posts down. Matthew, please do not quit posting. I myself have thought about stopping too, but if we do, it gives them what they want, the Save Lakewood Hospital Private Chat Room.
