Lakewood Hospital to Close Thursday Morning at 7:00 am?

Post by Brian Essi »

If true, it proves what I wrote about in other posts and in the LO this week.

CCF is closing the hospital ASAP to be able to take all the rest of the cash--likely over $20M in cash on top of a bunch of free stuff.

We are about to see how foolish our leaders and fellow citizens have been in aiding and abetting this crime.

Jim O'Bryan is right. They have been played for suckers.

That would not be a proper use of that quote.

I believe the comment was, "We are being played"

Which referred to City Hall's and the LHA's lack of insight and transparency.

The Mayor and Council President said, "The Hospital is not closing."

That is what I meant about being played. I might have referred to some as Rubes early on but would have to look for that quote.

This is so sad.

$50 million in cash at the Hospital.

$6 million or so in receivables.

$33 million interest in the Lakewood Hospital Foundation

Millions more in licences, equipment and other assets and it's all gone.

In exchange for what?

About $10.7 M from CCF and an empty useless building. Exactly what Pae and Summers feared so much is exactly what they signed up for without fighting for the people.

Maybe someone from build Lakewood could do the people of Lakewood a common courtesy and tell us what the City has won.

Go ahead and gloat. It won't hurt my feelings one bit.

Build Lakewood.

OK, build what?
