Shooting in Lakewood During Attempted Robbery

Post by Lori Allen _ »

Last night around 9:40 P.M., police were called to the corner of Elmwood and Detroit to assist a man who said he had been shot in the foot during an attempted robbery that happened by Indianola and Riverside. He was trying to walk to the hospital, but could walk no further. As far as I know, the victim is in good condition. Had things not gone so well ,I believe that it would have made Lakewood's sixth murder of 2015. As of now, no suspect has been apprehended.

Early on Saturday morning, police were also called to the 1200 block of Edwards on reports of shots fired. When police arrived, they determined that the shots sounded like they were coming from the Rocky River bridge and that no further action was required. There were also reports of shots fired on Westwood and Clarence recently.

What is our safety director doing? Apparently nothing. I believe he is probably so focused on the benefits from pushing the hospital deal through that he does not have time to worry about petty things like this.

That is the latest as far as I know. Stay safe!
